Hello CD, I just want to buy any old cheap bat for nets this season and max I want to pay is £30.

I am from the UK and Sportsdirect have a lot of bats on offer at the moment.

Can you tell me which ones you like and think are good for UK & which ones would work well in the nets etc.

Here is the link to all cricket bats

Here are some which I am thinking of getting:

Thanks and sorry if this takes too much of your time.

If you are not concerned about looks, you can get a kook kahuna 150 from jjb for £ 12 .I sanded it down as I was curious. I have also tried to bleach it to remove the two tone and ugly marks.

I bought this bat to sand and find out why its polycoated ?. I removed the stickers and the fake grains stickers, sanded the paint from the back. This is what I got ! Not bad for use as a net bat. It has about 12 grains. I think after stickering up it won't look as bad as now. Not bad tapping against a mallet either.

Go for a cheap English Willow at this price; some of the bats you have listed are KW. It is always a good idea to buy at a cheap price when you are not in touch with the seller; they have an Apex 404 for 25. Enjoy :)

Hey bro,

First of all, no need to say sorry man! It does not take any of my time, I love doing all this, it is like my bread and butter :)). So its all good ask whatever you wish to ask, no need to say sorry bro!

Anyways, I saw all of the bats you were thinking of getting. As someone earlier said they are Kashmiri Willow, however, most of the are junior size bats not full size.

The ones I would recommend are below, they are close to your budget price.

http://www.sportsdirect.com/gray-nicolls-evo-slayer-cricket-bat-851214

http://www.sportsdirect.com/kookaburra-kahuna-blitz-cricket-bat-mens-851200

http://www.sportsdirect.com/slazenger-v100-extreme-cricket-bat-851185

The reason why I am recommending the above ones is because they are English Willow rather than Kashmiri Willow (which is not very good in terms of performance when comparing to English Willow).

Nah thats a junior size bat.

Yeah: just noticed; but did see a SH a few days back; sorry about that lads.

Well the prices seems to be very good
can anyone please confirm, if the products are also good???
Gray Nicolls Powerbow Atomic Cricket Bat for 100 pounds seems to be a very good price!

The ones on sale are last few pieces which are left in inventory. So the company wants to get rid of them as soon as possible and best way for that is to lower the price.

so what do u think one should buy or not??

It is a gamble really, if you can personally choose one then thats fine but buying online is a gamble but that applies for expensive bats and I would say thats for 50-70 Pounds +

Sometimes you get beauties which perform well and sometime you are stung with crappy ones.

any idea if sportsdirect would send me pics of the bat??

thanks pal for the replies

Went to Sports Direct yesterday, saw a Ignite Atomic for £150, ping wasn't spectacular and pick up was ok.

At lot of the bats in sports direct are not even English willow - most of the cheaper range are Kashmir willow. But I suppose its still not bad if you just want to use them for nets.
