Sri Lanka (160/6) secure a 14-run victory over Pakistan (147/8) to level the T20I series 1–1

This is depressing

Game was there for the taking! Pakistan would have bottled it if the equation was turned
 
This Waseem is really limited mentally, if he knows the ball is going to be wide why is he swinging by staying at the crease.
 
Zero game sense.

Even the Faheem run out could have been avoided if Waseem stayed in his crease and waited for ball to hit stumps
 
Wasim ability with bat as just as over rated as Hasan Ali's , though later is much better. Why would you not have players like Abbass Afridi who is sound hitter and can bowl just as well if not better than Wasim in T20s.
 
I'd bet the amount of runs Pakistan cost themselves in the fielding and how many runs SL saved ended up being the difference in the game.

Still, they made it closer than I ever thought it would be to be honest. I figured they would be 100 all out or something.
Nafay seemed decent and looks way better in comparison to Usman. Pakistan keeping situation is a mess but I guess I'd just go with Nafay over Usman. Baffling they didn't give Nafay a shot before if he was remotely in their plans.
 
That six saved by the fielder on the boundary of Nawaz was game changing. Plenty of good saves on the boundary by the Sri Lankan fielders. Excellent fielding is vital in T20 Cricket
 
So even without RizBabar Pakistan still cannot come up with a team to chase challenging scores. Nawaz and Nafay both need to play in world Cup, along with Fakhar, though he is on his last leg.
 
This was an important loss.

Boys can hit.

Bowling can be firmed up.

But batting was decent. We got closer than most would have expected.

Plus the skipper stood up tall.
 
Wasim unfortunately cost us the game, as he conceded three sixes off three balls in the final over and then proceeded to do whatever the hell he was doing while batting.

Fielding standards have dipped drastically since the last series.
 
Best XI for WT20 has to be

1. Farhan
2. Saim
3. Salman
4. Fakhar
5. Hasan
6. Nafay / Haris (wk)
7. Nawaz
8. Faheem / Tariq
9. Shaheen
10. Naseem / Tariq
11. Abrar

Both the teams batted beautifully and bowled poorly. However SL was much better in field than Pak. So that was the game.
 
In t20 bowlers will go for plenty up against good batters that is why you need big hitters its a shoot out you need to out score the other team
 
I think park carrying too many out of form players or liabilities going into WC

1..Saim ( can be replaced with Maaz)
2..Mohd Wasim ( Ahmed Daniyal)
3..U.khan (Hasan Nawaz)
4. fakhar Zaman ( Nafay)
5.. I consider Babar as Liability in T20 too
 
Wasim is a HUGE liability - has no brain. He is the best reverse swing bowler we have, but not under these condition or for a tournament where one needs mental strength.

Usman Khan...I am sorry...I am sold on Nafay! This man does have potential to be the WK bat we needed in LOIs. That pull shot to square leg was a treat. He has to replace Usman in the WC.

Naseem is still brainless. He bowls really awesome when get going, but mixes so many soft balls and gives it away. Abbas should be playing for Naseem.

Not bad...Saim is the 6th bowler usually. I will have him lower down the order. Nafay for Usman, Hasan for Baber.
 
Last two overs were the difference between the two teams.. Mohd Wasim for the reason best known to him were serving full tosses. Even Naseem were bowling full tosses and on the slot. Don't know why they were not attempting bouncers/ short balls or slower bouncers.

They panicked looking at the conditions and it’s extremely difficult to bowl yorkers when the ball is wet.

Unfortunately both were too dumb to realize this and kept feeding into Shanaka’s arc, specially Wasim.

Wasim struggled in the tri-series too, so I hope this khairaat ends now and we can give chances to Ahmed Daniyal moving forward.

Naseem does have bowling skills - His brain goes to a holiday in between the overs. He has the habit of bowling some tight balls and then waste away doing experiment in between with total disaster.
 
Salman Ali Agha in the post match presentation:

"It was a great game. We batted really well, but with the ball we gave a little too many. When it comes to bowling and fielding, we need to be better. He (talking about Dasun Shanaka) is a very good hitter of the ball, and whenever he gets going he can destroy any bowling and that's what he did to us. If I would have batted 3-4 overs, it would have been a more closer game. I am happy with the batting unit, the way we approached. It would have been brilliant if we had chase that, but that is how cricket goes. Bowling is something we need to improve and we are working on that and we will be fine in the coming games."
 
Remove Usman Khan, bring Hassan Nawaz back.

Put Ahmed Daniyal in the squad, Faheem is totally useless. We dont need to play him. Play Hassan Nawaz alongwith Fakhar in the team.

Everyone else do not have a secure spot in the XI in Pakistan

Only Babar out of 220 million Pakistanis has a secure spot in the playing XI

Thats why we cant compete in t20 Cricket.

Look at performance of Babar in BBL. guy cant even score run a ball now and people are audacious enough to consider him great player

Lmao Babar would’ve played a lot better than your openers that you make documentaries about. They should make a documentary about the 4 that Farhan hit today so that Rana can watch it

There are times when sucking up the pride is better than talking/typing. I have NO AGENDA against Babar, but this is too much hate for others because of an affinity with babar.

I don’t hate Farhan or Saim so don’t misquote me. I think they should be in the team but your boy Rana acting like everyone is superior to Babar is the problem. Also very ironic that Babar wasn’t even playing this game but your Buddy Rana had to bring him up and you are talking about people defending Babar instead of him. Babar lives rent free in all your heads.
 
Sri Lanka leveled the three-match T20I series by defeating Pakistan by 14 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, defending their 160-run total in a rain-hit 12-over contest at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday night.

Pakistan had won the first T20I by six wickets, while the second match was abandoned without a ball due to persistent rain.

Chasing 161, Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha launched a fiery 12-ball 45, smashing five fours and three sixes after coming in during the second over following Sahibzada Farhan’s early dismissal. Salman and Saim Ayub added 51 runs for the second wicket off just 14 balls, though Ayub contributed only five runs.

Sri Lanka struck back quickly, taking three wickets in seven balls across the 4th and 5th overs, reducing Pakistan to 67-4 and leaving them needing 92 off the final seven overs. At this crucial stage, Mohammad Nawaz (28 off 15 balls, 2x4s, 2x6s) and debutant Khawaja Mohammad Nafay (26 off 15 balls, 1x4, 1x6) – Pakistan’s 125th T20I player – put together a vital 49-run partnership off 26 balls.

Wanindu Hasaranga, the player of the match, struck twice in the 10th over, following his double strike in the 5th, dismissing Nafay and Shadab Khan to halt Pakistan’s progress. Although Faheem Ashraf and Shadab’s late hitting reduced the equation to 30 off 12 balls, pacers Matheesha Pathirana and Eshan Malinga bowled tightly in the final overs, conceding just 15 runs as Sri Lanka sealed the win. Hasaranga finished with four wickets, while Pathirana took two and Malinga claimed one.

Earlier, Sri Lanka were propelled to 160-6 in 12 overs thanks to blitzing knocks from skipper Dasun Shanaka (34 off 9 balls, 5x6s) and Janith Liyanage (22*, 8b, 3x4, 1x6), who shared a 52-run partnership off just 15 balls after the visitors had reduced Sri Lanka to 102-5 in 9.1 overs.

Sri Lanka’s innings also featured crucial contributions from Kusal Mendis (30 off 16, 2x4, 2x6), opener Kamil Mishara (20 off 8, 3x4, 1x6), Dhananjaya de Silva (22 off 15, 4x4), and Charith Asalanka (21 off 13, 1x4, 1x6). Pakistan’s Naseem Shah had early success, removing Pathum Nissanka for a two-ball duck, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. claimed three wickets, with Faheem Ashraf, Nawaz, and Naseem taking one each.

I don’t have a problem with Farhan. He is a decenct addition to the team but making a documentary on a match you lost is dumb.

I don't have a buddy here. I may agree with Rana on somethings, and disagree with other.

You clearly stated (sarcastically) "your openers" and picked on ONE GRAND failure while Babar has been failing as a DEAD ANCHOR repeatedly. Also, what about the sly "documentary about 4" comment.

IF you look at the performances of Farhan, he has done well recently in the past few months. These are over the top comments and more like hating. I am not putting any words in any one's mouth.

They made a documentary on the 6’s he hit against Bumrah. I’ll repeat Farhan is a good addition to the team but please don’t lower your standards to make documentaries about a losing cause.

Because we are terrible at bowling… and batting.. and fielding. Horrible at taking reviews.
Matter of fact we should really focus on some other sport. Most of PakistanI players are in because of references instead of effort.
We have Damad Khan senior (shadab), damad khan junior (Shaheen) and Parchi Faheem, followed by Full toss Rauf, wana-be molvi Rizwan, 5 years past prime Babar… you get the gist on why we will never win.

The documentary was made by Zero studios, a Pakistani firm, and was called "Hero in the making".

I mean people do lie occasionally but this is next level.

I saw the trailer on some indian channel. But i checked what you said and i admit i was wrong.

However i am not wrong about indians constantly abusing Farhan on social media, that is smth i have personally witnessed.
 
Too much is not to be taken based on the loss. T20 is a fickle format. Also bilateral series is for experimenting new players.
 
Something quite wrong when your guy plays an innings like Salman did and you still end up losing.
