Thought they looked very good, barring the last hour or so of the game.

If I was a SL fan I'd see the positives in their openers and Gunaratne & B Mendis. Mathews as always batted fantastically well too.

The mindset of the batsmen is positive and shows where their attentions lie.

Regarding the bowling I thought Lakmal and Pradeep bowled well in previous games, and did well up to a point today too. If you add Chameera and Bandara to the list of quickies they have a very good arsenal for the future.

They showed heart and the SL fans should all be proud.

Mendis and Dickwella look very good. Kusal Mendis is only 22 , the next Jaywardne in the making.

Many thought this was the decline of Lanka with Bangladesh over taking them but this doesn't seem to be the case.

If they can find a couple of good pacers they will be a force again.

Their batting lineup with our bowlers would have made them a formidable unit.

Very correct observation. Too me the only worry is lack of quality spinner but batting looks very promising indeed

Imagine if Kusal Perera and Tharanga were available for selection. This game wouldn't have even been close.

SL are starting to look like they are coming out of their re-build phase. At least in LOI batting.

In white-ball cricket, I think Pakistan is solidly 4th in terms of batting - Afghanistan are still poorer than them, but unless Pakistan get their act together, even those guys might surpass them.

Fast bowling has never been SL strength although vaas n malinga have been amazing serventd for the SL lions but their focus has always been the batting gr8z and a mystry spinner. And with abundance of all rounders coupled with brilliant fielding has been their success. Current team , like pakistan, have many players tht r xcess bagage. Chandimal probably is one and def T Parera is thenother. He cane at a difficult time to bat and his batting performance was shockingly bad , where as fahim ashraf n aamir were miles miles miles more composed than him ..so

Get rid of chandimal, parera and lakmal and bring in more fiery youngsters.

they need a traditional quality sri lankan spinner at the moment.

the batting seems to be in good hands, it is the bowling department that needs a couple of wicket takers.

i think they will find some good ones, they always do. Pacers will be the issue

In their history thus far they have only had basically Vaas, Malinga and Fernando was decent as well

Saw only after SL started choking with the bat. Sri lanka need to work on their fielding, today's fielding was terrible. If you aren't a Pakistani fan you'd feel angry at Sri lankan players. If Tharanga had been in the team he might have bogged down their team even more, remember his 0 for 20 in 2011 WC Final ? Sri Lankan batsmen seem suitable for modern day Loi cricket, fast bowlers are too old, need to groom Chameera, Fernando and someone else. Shocked to see Sri Lanka play no spinner at all considering they have always produced good spin bowlers.

Can't find any recent pacer named "Bandara" who debuted for SL......

I think they do have a few good players coming through, just need to gain some experience. They will not become minnows like everyone predicted I think these last few years have been tough since Jayawardene, Sangakkara, Dilshan etc left but I think good players are coming through. Always had a soft spot for SL tbh

Batsmen are very promising indeed, but they need some good pacers. What happened to Dushmanta Chameera and Dhammika Prasad ? Binura Fernando seemed decent as well.

They need to drop Tissara Perera.

Prasad and Chameera would bolster the pace attack which is quite weak at the moment. Also need to uncover a new gun spinner after the Murali and Herath era.
