Mitchell Marsh will score a 100 to see his team into the final of the U19 World Cup 2009.

The ball isn't swinging here as it does at Lincoln. The good thing is that final will be played at Lincoln and Pakistan have played at least two matches there, against india and windies.

I used to play with the Srilankan Keeper Berenger. We used to play in the UAE together

Wow so is he any good?

Well
he was very talented.
Always used to play with the 15-16 year olds when we played with the 13 year olds
Was very good no doubt

But hes out now as I type this :p

I hope Australia can beat SL and qualify for final, so that we can crush the Aussies and feel a lil' better.

5th wicket

This is a total one sided game

Damn, Sri Lanka are getting KILLED, Pakistan should be worried because this Aussie attack looks immense - infact the whole team looks brilliant.

don't worry, it's our destiny to win. :afridi

I'm watching the game and all their bowlers look very accurate, they're attack is certainly looking better than Pakistan's here.

Bloody hell, some of these Australians getting close to 140kmph... :O

Ah yeah :D Had a look at the teams, McDermott is the opening bowler for Queensland state team and Hazelwood the opening bowler for NSW. As in the fc teams so they will be too hot to handle for most U19 I suspect.

Hazelwood has a F/C bowling average of 28 and a list A average of 26, he was the youngest fast bowler ever picked for NSW (age 17) and will be playing for Australia one day. Comparisons with McGrath.

McDermott with a List A average of 21.

I didn't know we had FC cricketers in the U19 side, these guys will pwn the opposition....

No doubt this Australian side is the best I've seen so far in the competition - a lot of fast bang it in bowlers, all well built. Batting looks very solid too, I think they look a lot better than everyone but Sri Lanka are fighting back a bit.

Another wicket goes down, 88-6 - Australia bowling themself into a final here unless SL can produce a miracle.

100 up for SL, given themselves something to bowl at at very least.

If SL can bat out the 50 overs, even with an average of 4, they would have made 200, which is quite good considering the batting collapse they faced earlier.

205 all out. aus need 206 for the privilege of playing pakistan in the final

Well that was a good recovery from the Lankans. At one stage was looking like they would struggle to get to 100. But thats a competitive total and will test the Aussie batsmen.

Good recovery by SL.

I hope our boys are watching the game. OZ opening bowling pair looks good.

Do you mean the senior, 'A' or junior team?

Didn't expect them to get to 200 but I think I've seen enough from Australia in about the 15 overs I watched to know that they're favourites to win this whole competition.

Aussies chasing 206 to win.

They lose their first wicket.

3-1 after 2 overs.

The much talked about Mitchell Marsh comes in at number 3.

Mitchell Marsh definately looks the goods. Oz are off 1/25 after 5.4 overs ... Marsh is up to 17 already off just 18 balls.

26-2 after 7 overs.

Mitchell still there. Looking like a very good prospect.

Mitch Marsh looks like he has a bit of class - has played some nice shots in his innings so far

If SL can get Marsh in the next few overs, they will definitely be on top.

Wicket at the right time for the Lankans!

This match is turning out to be more interesting than I initially thought it would be.

38-3 after 11.2 overs.

Much more interesting now.

Though Mitchell is still there. He is the main man for the Aussies.

Australia in a spot of bother.

114-5 after 27 overs.

92 runs needed off 23 overs.

Important thing is Mitchell Marsh is still there. 64 not out off 75 balls.

I have a feeling that marsh will take the aussies home

they need 75 from 18 with 5 wickets in hand

Aussies looking good. Pak should send over Aamer to rattle the Aussie u-19s. No use playing dead rubbers in Aus land.

standard in the tournament not that great, the main difference seems to be depth in the bowling deptartment..

Marsh out! But all a little too late. Oz need 30 off 60 balls with 4 wickets in hand. If the Lankans can get the keeper out now, it might be a bit tighter.

Personally I am not in favour of cricketers who are already good enough to play first class cricket playing the U19 WC. Aamer obviously is several grades above this standard, Hazelwood and McDermott are opening bowlers in the Aus domestic competition and Mitchell Marsh already averages more than 45 in Aus first class cricket. None of them should play U19 IMO.

Whats up with the drum beating moron?

They are doing my head in.

Tail enders are exposed ... SL need 2 wickets, but Oz only need 3 runs ...

Er we are facing Aus.

Our chance of a u19WC win just went down a bunch.

That Marsh guy is damn good.

A mishit will win it for the aussies. SL need to cut out these wides.

Another maiden over - also SL probably could have had a run out

So still 3 needed, from 12 deliveries

Aus still favourites BUT a wicket will change things

Pakistan v Australi in the final of the U19 world cup.

Who's writing the script? :))

It would be so ironic (not to mention hugely satisfying) if Pak U19 beat their Aussie counterparts while the senior team is getting whitwashed down under.

So its a PAKISTAN-AUSTRALIA Final
Its got a nice ring to it, but Sri Lanka were a stronger team, ;let the young guns show the old barrels how to beat Australia.
