289 to get for SL.

I said we should have had a lot more, this was undisputed's response:

since you're not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed by a long margin, let me break it down...was it not for the fantastic cameos by Razz and Rana, we would have not even made 250, considering the retarded way 6 of our batsmen got out...and as for the pitch, was an absolute belter, and 300 is a minimum on that

Dude, don't make it sound like we're going to lose now.

On a side note, what is up with Sangakkara's attitude .... don't know if any of you guys feel it, but I find him increasingly arrogant. The whole world always sees the Sri Lankan players as an example of gentlemanship, though this bunch apart from a few individuals (Jayawardene, Samaraweera, Jayasuria) are turning up to be the complete opposite of that.

His behaviour with Razzaq today was unacceptable, had it been Afridi or somebody else they would shut Sanga off, but Razzaq is a bhola person .... does'nt say much and just does his job. Also in the test series, Sanga against Younis comes to mind where Sanga was accusing Younis of something.

Pakistan need to make some early inroads and try to build some pressure on Sri lanka.

Allah na kare...we still need to bowl well on this pitch to win it

key wicket: Sangakkara. Get him early and you have a great chance of winnning.

We have got a good total - hopefully our bowlers can bowl can take some early wickets to put the pressure on them

Thanks to Fawad for stopping the collapse and bring the team to stability so later batsmen can hit. If he had lost his wicket quickly we would have been all out for 150.
Thank you Fawad for the sheet anchor role you played. You played the most vital innings of the match so far.

SL players being gentlemen is a myth. It used to be the case before Ranatunga.

Sanga is a bit too full of himself and that was visible in the T20WC final as well.

Sanga needs to be taught a lesson again. He has forgotten the lesson learnt in the final of the T20WC.

I'll back Rana to teach Sanga a lesson in humility and charm. To the point that Sanga will find the following words emanating from his own lips almost uncontrollably:

Hum ko Rana ji maaf karna ghalti maare se ho gayee

Yes, his attitude does'nt look good.
Before becoming captain, I felt him to be one of the good guys in the game.
Then again, these days most successful teams appear to have captains that have lousy attitudes- Pointing being the best example, with Smith not far behind.
Maybe Younus needs to stop being a nice guy, and then Pakistan will start becoming successful( - Miandad?)

Fawad Alam: Man of the Match.

What a fine innings from this young talented cricketer.

Both O Akmal and Fawad played a vital role in averting a collapse....YK has already made the hard decision now of dropping Misbah and Yousuf...although in the next odi he should select yousuf and drop Malik instead....Yk atlast has the support of the masses now that whenever he gave chance to a youngster he perfomed.... Ajmal...Aamer, Fawad are the examples now O Akmal....

No sorry i disagree 288 is fine, you said 320, which got the deserved response from me, Because if pakistan can't defend 288 it unlikely they going to defend 320, so if they going to win they hafto bowl well and 288 is more than enough safety. and if they can't defend that today then its unlikely they would of defended 300 or 320.

I didnt watch Omar Akmal's innings but the young lad has surely impressed us PPers!

I watched him for the 1st time, and he is a Gem

Fawad Alam got 13 off 33, we could have got 300 if he had hirried up..but im not gonna blame him..hes young.

Agreed and I first noticed it, as Momo pointed out during the T20WC final, particualrly during his post match comments, where despite his team's ass being handed to them by Pakistan he banged on about how his team had the best bowling attack in the world and how little credit he actually gave to Pakistan.

But just consider he getting out like Malik then we would not have been able to score 200....

Mahela's opening. Interesting decision. Let's send him back quickly so they can regret it.

Lol. Fawad did nothing, paa jee. Sometimes people on here praise Fawad incessantly.

It was all Umar, Rana, and Razzy.

Is that Jayawardene i see opening...so much for established number 4s who dont have to open :D

No Afridi?

Does anybody know what the highest target achieved chasing is at this ground?

I highly doubt it, there was Umar Akmal, Afrdi, Razzaq and Rana and Amer to come and the pitch was flat..sheesh...anything to bash Malik.

fawad alam was pathetic
Far too liberal with the term ''pathetic''. Fawad struggled yes, and threw his wicket away with a daft shot, but you must take the match situation into account; he came in at 107-4 in the 22nd over and was dismissed in the 33rd over with the score on 149.

It wasn't a great innings but it helped stabilize the match and gave Akmal some much needed support.

But just consider if Fawad had got out like Malik (I mean getting out early)..then we would not have been able to score even 200....

Another Cracker by Tharanga through the off side, another boundary

Sanga is a tough guy....

sangakkara thinks he's australian, i hope we give him some chirp if we hopefully get him out early.

Razzaq struggling here. Surely he's a first or second change man?! Rana would be a better option with the new ball.

Well....you may disagree but Captain should act like sanga...captain should be a tough guy in the team so that other players also fear him..

:yk asks the fielders behind the stumps and Akmal to come up a bit

geez ahmed zulfis morbid predictions might come true....since this pitch is looking a belter still...inshallah we can pull this off though! A couple of quick wickets will do the trick.

Classical stuff from Jayawardene, love watching the guy bat.

Razaq will always struggle in the subcontinent with his bowling. Will we miss Gul today, especially at the end of the innings?

why on earth is razzaq opening the bowling ahead of rana...?

When is Rana going to bowl? At the death?

Good shot by Mahela.
