After the second T20I at Rangiri International Stadium, Dambulla, was abandoned without a ball bowled due to continuous rain, all eyes now turn to the decisive third T20I on Sunday, 11 January. Pakistan currently leads the three-match series 1-0, following a six-wicket victory in the opener.

Both teams will be eager to make a mark in the final game. Pakistan will aim to maintain their winning momentum and seal the series, while Sri Lanka will be looking to bounce back on home soil to level the series. Weather conditions permitting, fans can expect a thrilling contest as both sides battle for T20 supremacy in Dambulla.

No rain in the forecast for tomorrow evening. Some showers probably in the morning - we might have a full game! I hope SL crowd shows up tomorrow for their team's support. We need a competitive game from SL. Let's see if Pak either choose, or get to chase the target.

Team I’d like to see inshAllah:

Sahibzada
Saim
Agha
Nafay
Shadab
Samad
Nawaz/Usman Khan
Waz Jr
Naseem
Salman Mirza
Usman

4 changes is fine, we know what Faheem can do, might as well have a bowl off between the three quicks. I’d also give Nafay the gloves this match and consider playing Usman Khan over Nawaz just as a batter.

That's a good XI.

Balanced.

So what have we achieved from this series , besides courtesy return to SL for continuing that tour

The thing that should concern Pakistan is what happens if one of their matches against Namibia or Netherlands gets rained out

By the time the covers come off, and umpires decide to restart….

You can be sure another spell of rain is incoming

19:35 Local Time, 14:05 GMT, 19:35 IST: Oh deary me!! The rain stopped briefly, but it has returned again, meaning and the covers are firmly back in place.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Third T20I Weather Update

Rain has eased at Dambulla with some covers being removed, but the central square remains covered and light drizzle continues, leaving the start of the final T20I uncertain.

5-7 overs per side will be awesome for a WC warm-up, and hopefully Pak bat 2nd under a heavy pressure 😀. Though SL has been dreadful 😞 in the past many games.

The ground has taken a beating, match will be further delayed by wet outfield
I don’t think outfield drainage is much of an issue in SL,

It’s just the overhead rain and its unpredictability that’s a major concern

This is the problem you are going to have,

Some games will be reduced from 20 overs to maybe 10-15 over slog outs. We already have Agha in the side and Babar expected to add to it.

Pakistan really need to think about this.

Anyway Shadab is in side, he can be captain. But we all know, he will never play Abrar or Sufiyan. So the ideal captain can be Ayub, anyway I don't see captaincy plays a big role in t20s.
Ayub needs to bat properly first and then think about captaining the side
