Whats happening there? Injuries list getting long.

This worldcup will surely be remembered due to injury list.

Any news about Malinga is he fully fit now for NZ match?

He is bowling in the nets, that is all we know. SLC says their are "confident" that he'll be back but it looks like Malinga is walking on a thin line.

Prasad bowled well in the last tri series, he is a better batsmen than Thisara as well. Averages about 20 with strike rate near 100. I wanted Prasad to replace Thisara and SL to continue with Kule,Lakmal and Malinga. Now we'll be stuck with Thisara. This is horrible.

I am listening this bowling in net news from like last 2 years lol

Agree Prasad will be missed SL attack is already on last legs like Pakistan

Maybe bring in Dushmantha Chameera, the pace bowler who debuted and impressed in the last ODI against NZ earlier this month. He bowls normally around 145k+

He's too inexperienced. The pressure will get to him 'n He will get beating of a life time. It may ruin him.

Why couldn't they get Karunaratne injured ? :mv Accidents happen all the time. Then we could have brought Kusal back.

Feel bad for Prasad, an honest trier..
Guys, wouldn't it be better to name a fast bowling all rounder rather than a pure batsman?

I actually wanted Karunaratne 2 years earlier when I had never seen him. Remember Mathews got injured before the 2011 WC final then sl called Vaas and Randiv and made Randiv bowl? ?

''Prasad was struck in the hand by a ball bludgeoned back at him by THISARA PERERA.'' :)))

You think it was intentional ?? :13:

:)))

No control, he'll get smashed all over the park and he gets regular pounding in SL first class matches. Maharoof is the only other option, he can bat as well.

Thirimanne
Dilshan
Sanga
Mahela
Mathews
Chandimal
Perera
Kule

Herath
Lakmal
Malinga

Karunaratne and Jeevana are the only other batsmen in the squad, not even Tharanga. Tharanga is at least skilled and not a hack. Vithanage or Kusal would have been a better choice.

The replacement is gonna be Kusal or Tharanga -unconfirmed souces-

Kusal :hamster:

If we are looking to find a guy for no.5 or 6 imo kusal is not a great option. He just can't rotate the strike and looked average against spinners especially offies.

But he can take Steyn to the cleaners. :19:

I wanna see Podi Sana on Sunday against the ball-tamperers.

Yeah..i can still remember the look on Steyn's face after getting thrashed :) priceless
I was a huge fan of Kusal but his continuous failures against India and England have been disappointing. Hope he has rectified his mistakes and will make good use of the opportunity if he gets selected.

That's a shame as he was pretty good against NZ and against England last year.

SL bowlers are talented but kinda stupid, no offence(I know you are reading this Thisara, stop getting drunk the night before the game). SL bowlers bowl like they play club cricket. You know,2 length ball and then BAM Yorker, 2 more length ball and BAM bouncer. That kinda thing. Don't know how to use the line, angle and etc.

I KNEW IT !!!!.

:gayle OH YESS. I dreamed of a line up with Prasad and Kusal but I'd take this malnourished version of Sanath. We need at least one bowler who can accelerate. Where did you hear this info ? another forum ?

Dushmantha Chameera to Replace Injured Dhammika Prasad

MEDIA RELEASE

Dushmantha Chameera to Replace Injured Dhammika Prasad

Dear All,

Dhammika Prasad will not be in a position to represent the World Cup squad for the upcoming 2015 ICC WC owing to the injuries received by him during practice. Hence the Selection Committee in consultation with the Team Management has approved to include Dushmantha Chameera in place of Dhammika Prasad in the above squad subject to receiving the ICC Technical Committee’s approval in this regard.

The Hon.Minister has approved same..

No Kusal, looks like Sanath will make Jeevan play. Jeevan was Sanath's FC teammate, probably was attracted to Jeevan Mendis. I don't know what to do with this Thisara guy, he is tall, big and bowls at 125KM/H .

Don't worry, we'll again make him look like Malcolm Marshall. :bhatti

SL bowling looks terrible on par or probably worse than even Pakistan/India. It's a shame, if they had a decent attack (e.g. fit and firing Malinga) could have been formidable with a pretty decent and deep batting order.

Diamond in the rough. Could have some x factor. Don't put any pressure on the guy just let him bowl and bowl fast

He gets smashed in FC matches, nothing special apart from his speed. Inferior version of Umesh Yadav. Not all glitters are gold.

Every fast bowler gets smashed in sri lanka though.

Not really, the batsmen are equally crap so ya. Remember T.Perera averages 31 and Chandimal averages 55 in FC so you know how poor things are down there. After this WC, SL is back to "minnow" status, Canada is demoted to Division 3 cricket and I have no desire to follow cricket to be honest. I think I'm just attracted to the SL cricketers and their personality, take away Sanga, Mahela, Sanath, Murali, Dilshan and I hate every other damn player lol.

I'm guessing he'll be back in time to torment Shehzad in the UAE then.

He's actually really good. Sucks he missed Sri Lanka's round of overseas tours. He would've had a lot of fun and success bowling in England and SA.

He's a good test bowler but what injury did he have. If he has been injured for so long will he ever be the same?
