Wow. no body else complained, so these five should not be heard. You keep exceeding yourself
Let me explain it for you carefully - this agency have laid off staff for the last 18 months. It didn't start with these five execs. 80% of the creative department are white males and only 8% of the senior executive team are from a black or ethnic minority background so obviously in any rounds of redundancies the white male workers are going to be proportionately affected. There was no talk of racial discrimination then. Here, these five men complained after the boss went to a conference called "Creative Equals" where the
subject was about diversifying the creative industry and improving the gender paygap - as the industry is
notorious for its abysmally low representation of BMEs and its gender paygap. What were the five men expecting their boss to say at a diversity conference - there should be FEWER women and BMEs in senior leadership ?
Now was that a firing offence ? No, I'd have to assess their performance in their jobs - maybe they were to lose their jobs anyway because the company's been firing staff for 18 months. Neither of us know. But are they entitled to an executive position for life ? Hell no, and the fact they
complained to HR after that speech shows their entitlement complex.
I see how conveniently you ignored this in the OP:
No that's not the proper quote which is typical for a tabloid like Daily Mail which you so readily quote. She said at the event she wanted to obliterate the agency's reputation of being a "Knightsbridge boys’ club". Again, if you'd knew anything about the UK advertising industry it has a reputation for being dominated by affluent white males in the South of England. It
makes sense for an advertising agency to have a diverse workforce since its in their interests to attract a wide range of clients.
BTW this agency has the
worst gender paygap in the advertising industry. The median gender paygap is
44.7% whereas in the industry it's 16% - I didn't hear these five execs or you whine about discrimination then. The agency's former CEO, Gustovao Martinez, left the agency THIS year after allegations of harassment and racist comments. Geez, I wonder why the new boss would want to improve the company's image and appeal more to women and BMEs !
I can engage you with that study you posted, but that deserves another thread. You are more than welcome to create it and I will shred your points one by one. Promise.
Address it here as it's relevant. And address why you falsely equivocate "liberal anti-white racism" with centuries old anti-black prejudice which you strangely don't condemn with the same ferocity despite it being far more prevalent and has killed many more lives.
