Indians fans of DC Comics are criticising the comic book publisher for portraying Kashmir as a disputed territory in its latest animated film Injustice.

In a clip circulating on the internet, Superman and Wonder Woman are seen destroying Indian military infrastructure.

Towards the end, Superman declares the federal union territory an arms-free zone.

LOL

Believe it or not I watched the movie just last night and I was smiling at that part myself. It was for a fleeting few seconds though. They also showed Israel and Palestine on a table agreeing to a peace accord as well.

If we're being honest, disputed territory also includes Pakistan administered Kashmir. So Superman and Wonderwoman basically demilitarise the entire J & K region of all military equipments belonging to India and Pakistan. Which is not a bad outcome as people won't be shooting each other's heads from across the LOC.

LOL

This is quite appropriate given that those who believe Indian Kashmir is “disputed” are living in fantasy land.

Actually watch it yesterday and to me movie wasnt good tbh... And before that i watched Batman the darknight returns, and really liked that.. was hoping there will be sequel for that one..

Its great to see an Indian poster accepting Kashmir is disputed.

Now you need to accept another reality, Indian occupied Kashmir is nothing like Pakistani side of Kashmir. Imprisonment v Freedom.

Plenty of Indians triggered & up in arms on Twitter LOL

The definition of clutching at straws :))

The poster I quoted is imo one of the better posters from across the border esp in this subject.

Kashmir is disputed acc to Int law. Which is prob why the writers also used the term.

Should I expect effigies of Superman being burnt in Dehli now?

Indeed, now that "one of the better posters" has admitted it is disputed territory, the Indian government has no option but to vacate Kashmir.

Sure, why not? I am sure among the 1,300 million Indians, there are at least half a million lunatics.

The poster has more brain cells than all of the BJP member together, so doubt it.

Idiots, the petrol prices are way too high atm!

It's good to see the objections are going down to the comics world as the "disputed" (?) entity is dieing down in real world.

Article 370 abolition has made significant progress.

You can sort of see where DC are going with this...

Marvel had Captain America go against the Nazis / Hitler / Hydra and so DC are trying to get ahead of the game and in a decade or so it will be Wonder Women v Modi

Reminds me off "Superman" a atrocious Bollywood movie i watched many years back:))):))). Through their films and cartoons Hollywood tells us what America plans to do in the future so don't be so dismissive about such messages. This is a scene from 1996 film "The Long Kiss Goodnight". America plans up to 30 years in advance.

Thanks for giving views to OpIndia i see where the views comes from now 😂

DC don’t tend to take political positions.

Cap is basically just a strong bloke with a shield. Superman is effectively a god. Human foes aren’t in Superman’s league, other than Lex of course.

Though the superheroes might be used as a metaphor for authoritarianism. What would happen if they decide to take over?

So when are they deepfaking the Martian invasion? They predicted this in War of the Worlds in 1953.

Also isn’t the global ape takeover predicted in 1968 in Planet of the Apes running a bit late?

How about the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, when’s that rolling round?

Ummm but the God they show in this movie is Rama Krishna.

I bet the person who wrote the script is Indian..

Reminds me of the propaganda in animated movie "abominable" showing the disputed nine dash line. Playing on the young minds and trying to change their opinion at young age seems to be agenda.

Some are making it sound as if Kashmir is not a disputed territory, local Kashmiri are in love with the Indian army, each and every Indian soldier is showered with rose petals and given a cup of tea each morning by the locals.

You would have to use all the domestically grown roses snd import another ten million more just to cover a third of the army that occupies Kashmir

Well obviously they don't always do that in every movies. Superhero's don't exist either....we have to read between the lines. In "The Simpsons" cartoon they foretold that Donald Trump will become the American President.
