not 100% sure personally.

but still sydney for me i think

Sydney hands down.

This test was over as a game when we were 67/8 since that point there was only one winner.

Easily Sydney.

Losing an almost won match is far more heartbreaking than almost winning a lost match.

I will never forget Sydney 2010. That was the most heartbreaking loss I've personally witnessed after the 2000 Antigua loss in the Windies :(

Sydney, you guys lost a match that was in your pocket.

Gabba, you nearly won a match that you were never in, except the last session and a half.

Pakistan never really stood a chance in this match. From start to the end, odds fluctuated between 80 to 100% in Australia's favor.

Sydney on the other hand was a match Pakistan could have won. So, that must easily be more heartbreaking.

Not wishing to take anything away from Australia in 2010 but in truth at the SCG Pakistan imploded rather than Australia playing excellent cricket. Here at Brisbane, despite a 'heroic' run chase, Australia deserved the victory and were the better team in the match.

And you just have to witness the reactions at end of both matches - at end of the SCG match there was despondency whereas here there is hope.

I think both matches in fact reflect the journey Pakistan has undertaken under the guidance of Misbah since 2010. Pakistan certainly has many flaws, but they are tenacious and resilient. Rather than relying on 'talent' - a word that so frequently appears in Pakistan cricket history - their strength rests on 'character'.

Well one is a game you had full control over and let it slip away in a suspicious manner at that.

Other is a game where you came from a hopeless situation to almost pull off a win.

I think its an easy choice. Sydney 2010.

This. I don't even know how people can be heartbroken over this loss.

Nothing heart breaking about this Gabba. Solid reply by Pak against a host country.

I didn't get to see the Sydney 2010 match live.

But watching highlights we obviously should have won that match. How in the world did we end up losing that one.

Sydney test should be real heartbreak, they snatched defeat from jaws of victory.
This game Pakistan was never really there!

Sydney by quite some distance.

We got close at the Gabba but at no point during the run chase I believed that we were going to pull it off. On the other hand, I couldn't believe how we managed to mess it up at Sydney.

Ahhh the 2010 loss in Sydney hurt like hell. We where in a comfortable position to win it but we somehow scuffed it and in the process we made Nathan Hauritz seem like a world beater

Sydney, you are always disappointed by the matches you boss and lose vs. the other way around.

No team deserves to win after scoring 140 in the first inning in a high scoring match. Australia played better cricket and they deserved to win. Pakistan, however, gave a good fight back in the last 2 days. So, it has to be Sydney which Pakistan lost from the winning position. Heck, even loss at Hobart was worse than this one.

I don't think it's apple to apple comparison. Aus declared despite having so much time left. They could have batted for another 100 runs easily. Aus was comfortably a superior team in this test despite Pakistan losing by only 40 runs. Here match lasted for around 4 days and Aus had 5 wickets in hands in their second inning.

This! Australia was never in losing position in this match. Even a draw was a worst case scenario for them. Could have easily added 150 more.

Sydney 2009 was more heartbreaking. that was a match we should have won and this match in Gabba we should have lost anyhow.

Sydney, no question.

Relatedly, every time Kamran Akmal's recall is floated, I get PTSD flashbacks and rage.

The pain goes deep.

Sydney...I've been supporting Pakistan as a kid since the days of Imran Khan 82-83 series against India.....

......that was the only time in my life, Sydney 2010, that I said to myself that I'll never support Pakistan again!

But.... those were the bad old days of Pakistan cricket and thankfully most of those TTFs are now gone for ever.
