Karachi has a rich history of producing Wicket Keepers for Pakistan Cricket. Currently a Son of the soil is Pakistan's Captain aswell.
It all began with Hanif Mohammad followed by Waseem Bari, Tasleem Arif, Saleem Yousuf, Moin Khan, Rashid Latif & Sarfraz Ahmed.
Since last 10 years besides Sarfraz there was no wicket keeper batsman of note in Karachi or Sindh but now after a decade Tahami is the one to look out for.
Syed Mohammad Tahami is rated very highly by Rashid Latif and he has excelled in Under 19 Cricket and has come through ranks. His story is not similar to some one who father was a Test Wicket keeper. He is a confident opening batsman and a wicket keeper by trade. Now it is time that KCCA and departments rise above nepotism and let him keep wickets. Just as he has taken a leap from Under 19 Cricket with a 178 runs innings following his Under 19 One day Cup match winning final hundred a couple of years ago nepotism is in hid way sadly and gloves have been taken away from him.
Tahami is on his way to FC debut this season InshaAllah but its time to facilitate and encourage him and appreciate his hard work, work ethics and performances rather than taking away the gloves he has been wearing for last 5-6 years.
Syed Bhaee Sorry for going off track here. Yes busy with studies that's why.
