First of all - have to give credit where it is due.

I thought he was a mediocre poor man's version of Manzoor but he proved me wrong today.

Great knock and played a very good pace.

Keep in mind this was not some random Pakistan Cup or even a PSL game - he was playing in foreign conditions having been out of the team for a while.

Deserves to get more chances.

Well played sir! :14:

Unbelieveable!
Are you watching Azhar Ali, Sami Aslam?

The thing he has going for him is that his movements is minimal. In todays world of flat ptiches that helps greatly, means he can just hit through the line.

Im hopeful he can do ajob for us, while we wait for some younger players to develop

Let's see how it goes. It might turn out to be a fluke. I have always maintained that Latif is not good enough for international cricket.

He definately has hitting power. He can an option for us in ODI's and T-20 cricket. Given paucity of batting firepower, he needs to be in the thick of things.

This is precisely why we can't improve because we hype players after one innings. One of his top edges could have easily been caught....He's alright at best but he doesn't need to take a bow or anything like that msb314.....:inti

He has an attacking game which our other openers do not have e.g. Azhar.

I remember him as being mediocre so was pleasantly surprised by this knock. He has the capability to play more such knocks - definitely deserves more chances after this.

it was a good innings, but, nothing classy about it, he was glued to the crease on pacers... bare minimum foot movement... he will be figured out very soon... hopefully things go well for him, if he is persisted with in the team...

He needs to stop hooking the pull, he is a good puller but the hook stroke is poor. If he can improve his shot selection he will be handy in white ball cricket.

To his credit - Sami deserves more chances as well.

Are you kidding me. Yesterday Sami was playing the domestic T20 tournament that is ongoing. He came out as opener and played out a maiden in the first over. Then continued to block and relied on a couple of boundaries to bring his score to 10 off 14/15 deliveries. That is when I lost interest and turned off the telly.

Sami is a poor man's Shehzad or a homeless man's Azhar in LOI.

Not too many singles in that innings, need to see how he comes back when sorted out by the other teams (too bad only one t20 here). But for now great intent and very good innings. Certainly deserves more chances and yes, needs a pathway to odi team.

He is a good player for limited over cricket , has a tremendous list A record and can clear the boundary with ease.

I didnt expect such good batting performance from him.

Good work, great innings by him.

He deserves some matches so i don't mind if he plays some t20 but shouldn't play him in odi or it's going to end shezad's way.

Good brave innings.the guy was suffering from emotional trauma as his mother died a month ago.need to be persisted with at least in T20.

I was very surprised how Khalid Latif batted. I was looking forward to watching Sharjeel but Khalids shots were brilliant. He has always been good through midwicket but also played some nice cut shots yesterday.

I have never rated him since he has never really scored any innings of note. Although I think England bowled poorly but still good knock none the less. Best part is he kept the momentum till the end which was good to see. Though I have been vouching for Umar Akmal to come in as ODI and T20 opener. Maybe him opening in T20s and Umar coming later is also an option to consider in the format.

Much cleaner hitter than Shehzad, especially against spin.

Pretty sure he has 2 double hundreds in List A cricket.

He has been used wrong on t20s by Pakistan, remember him coming in at around 5-6 in the t20 WC in west indies.

Complements Sharjeel brilliantly.

England must have been shellshocked.

I knew he wasn't gonna last. Man we somehow managed to get rid of him. Thank God. What a cheat and disgrace.

Indeed they complement each other very well lol

Just bowed out of the game.

Take a bow, indeed. :inti

I remember Khaled Latif made his debut against NZ in October 2009 - made a slow 50 but we won the game.

Thought he was a nothing player but his T20 knock against England proved me wrong.

He had a major chance to comeback and establish himself in the PSL and in our T20 squad but threw it all away....
