"Team management is powerless in front of Babar": Wasim Akram

And so what. These three on the panel were some of our worst pind politics players. Don't even get me started on Malik sahib or I'll reopen the longest PP thread in history..frankly some new members should read through nearly ten years of Malik posts.

Yes management follows the cuptaans lead. That's why this team has discipline. They fight together and go down together lose and win together not like Maliks lovely cuptaany period. And let's nor get started on wiqi and was...

Enough of the gully muhala jahiliyat..Babar is in charge that's how it should be..the cuptaan is the man. End of..

I remember that thread! it was a great thread. I was probably the original malik critic when everyone was thinking I’m mad. I was proven correct about him at the time. I have no reason to agree with anything malik says.

However, on this programme, he does make some good points (when he’s not trying to be an obnoxious comedian).

In this instance I don’t even think he was criticising anything about babar.

My problem is not with the captain having authority - but you can’t be a lame duck captain either like Babar. Give a strong captain power and you can be great.

You give it to a weak individual, you get a weak team.

Isn’t that what everyone wanted? A captain who listens to no one?

Now they want someone who is a yes-man :))

This qaum doesn’t deserve happiness, since they do not know what to do with it.

LOL absolutely true... More power to the captain and same way he is answerable too. Let him do his Job.

When Misbah was coach, posters here couldn't stop blabbering about what a powerless captain Babar was. And how he had zero control over decisions.

Now that it has emerged that Babar is the one taking the decisions, people have a problem with that too.

Some of you are just trolls.

Actually I would go as far as saying they are either devoid of basic intelligence.( very likely) or very young and not very experienced when it comes to thinking critically.

However on the flip side we have very many veteran posters who fit the first category and have never really improved.

In the subcontinent, having a powerful captain who has final say over the decisions is much better than having a weak captain who does not have control over his team, or whose power is hedged by the coach. Things, in this part of the world work much differently than they do in SENA.

For better or worse, this is how things should be. And if Babar does not work out as captain, then Shadab or Rizwan should have the same power and control over decision-making.

Bring back wahab. Pind da raja Malik is beyond annoying..even his stories are rubbish. I just can't handle his analysis knowing how utterly rubbish he was..

You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned critical-thinking.

I would also say that certain posters have gone so far down the rabbit-hole of their own deluded agendas, that they have simply lost touch with reality.

Go on… would love to make Rizwan captain and watch him continue to dig his own grave

Babar's comments to Haris were not the best but I think there is also a risk of over analysing them.

Remember that Babar could have selected Khushdil, Haider and Asif. In fact I dont think any poster on this forum had Haris in their line ups because thats how far down the pecking order he was.

Need to give him some credit for the selection.

Good point, well made!!

I'm not sure how close Wasim Akram and Babar Azam were, but I know that Wasim's recent television comments have upset Babar a lot as some of them were what happened in the dressing room and behind closed doors and Babar didn't expect them to be revealed especially by a former player and skipper.

In fact you can say Hafeez has been a bigger match winner. Tests and ODIs without doubt.

Babar is the king of soft pointless runs.

Match Winner Hafeez averages less than 20 in Australia and less than 30 against England and India in that country.

Didn't Steyn make hafeez look like a club cricketer?

A semi final was expected by Pakistan even before the tournament.

From the talent we have( lack off) in the batting depth, with only 3 batsman and our main player short of confidence and form, it's a real achievement. We aren't a top 4 team and we are in the SF. That is a good return.

That says alot about Pakistan that they haven't fired in t20s in the batting but yet we have achieved semi final. We are a top 4 in world cups and that has always been the case.

Too much hatred for Babar recently. Classic Pakistani trait- hate your own if they're successful.

Babar has put Pakistani batting back in the limelight after Miandad and Inzamam. He is going through a rough patch but he will get out of it.

nobody is saying to get rid of him from the team. just asking him to move down the batting order. what's wrong with that? we pakistanis make too big an issue of things and take things too personally, which is exactly what babar is doing.

I love the fact that cricket is more than a game to us - but over analysis such as this and other constant complaints of fans - even where there are signs of some positivity gives me second hand embarrassment. Enjoy the game, the build up (The pavilion has been a great show), and just relax.

The likes of Akram, Amir, Hafeez and others have egg on their faces when the team performs after they have bashed it.

Truly lowlife stuff to bash your team when they are down.

Pointing out technical areas etc is fair game if you are an analyst. Getting personal means you actually want the team to do badly so you can sell yourself as the great mastermind.

I have no sympathies for them - and plenty of love for our team.

It's not actually that surprising that Wasim Akram has revealed himself as classless. Just look at what happened in and outside the dressing room when he was around.

Babar responded the best way possible - kept his mouth shut and led his team to a final.

Cricket is one thing, but on a personal level Waz is a toxic individual who has proven he has absolutely nothing when standing next to a man like Babar.

Wasim Akram knew from KK that Babar is a flawed captain. And to Akram's credit, he kept his mouth shut as he knew the people did not want to hear anything against Babar...

He was right in the end.
