Last wicket stand begged for some fast thinking by our bowlers but it was not to be.

Strange bowling and no presence of mind by our top bowling minds? When will we get this skill back?

This needs improving or Pakistan will be in similar positions throughout the rest of the series

When Starc gets a ball in his hand.

Its funny since both Amir and especially Wahab have a good yorker in their arsenal

Still not as good as Starc, those are fascinating to watch. I still remember his yorker to Butler, that was a sight

They wont & there must be some technical reason for it. Some cricket savy guy can guide us better

I was surprised to see not one yorker coming from both Wahab and Aamir. Not sure, why are they so afraid of bowling them.

Wahab persisting with short bowling no matter what the situation is.

Hopefully Amir, Hasan and Junaid (if he comes in) can bowl decently at the death in this series.

Well they wont get better unless you keep practicing them in match situations. Today most bowlers go for the slower delivery to be on the safer side or wide outside off

Got it horribly wrong though in his last over - very lucky not to go for 15+ runs as he kept on bowling full tosses and half volleys.

I dont think so

That is his speed which kept a well set batsman like Wade quiet

Yorkers were one thing Wahab could do but for some reason his head is made of concrete. Amir today had whatever success he had today while bowling the yorkers but he too tries to be over efficient and bowl every delivery besides the yorker.

What happened to the yorkers?

I remember Dale Steyn saying that a yorker bowled at pace is deadly even on the slowest surfaces

Wahab Riaz has pace. Why does he not learn to bowl Yorkers. Yes he does do it occasionally.

Why does every batsman not hit every ball for six?

There are still bowlers that bowl yorkers but they arent that quick anymore and they certainly dont swing the ball so the batsmen find it easier to play, helped with larger bats andb etter ODI techniques.

Having said that, when yorkers are bowled, even at lesser pace/no swing, it's still better than this rubbish of slower ball bouncers and wide balls.

Still find it baffling how bowlers prefer to bowl wide yorkers compared to one on leg stump, wide yorker is pretty much either a miss or a boundary since they can get so much power on it because they can free their arms. Leg stump yorker is the king of death bowling IMO and if they move follow them, don't give space to free their arms.

Lungi Ngidi , the 21 year old South African is the king of Yorkers in the South African domestic league.

I have seen him bowl an over with six Yorkers

Amir and Junaid were terrific in the death overs of third ODI,they were bowling continuous yorkers and slower ones.

As Afridi had to say..

Our death bowling was once our strength, especially with the ability of our bowlers to bowl yorkers consistently. I don’t know why the yorker has gone missing.

Just one yorker bowled by Pakistan in the entire match against India.

Faheem and Rumman bowled a few today. Even Yamin.

Why doesn't Amir bowl yorkers more often? Even Hasan uses them pretty sparingly.

Today finally saw classic Pakistan death bowling inswinging yorkers orchestrated by Yamin, Fahim, Rumman, full deliveries right on the toe-nails only issue was they were bowled at 120-130 clicks. Only Fahim went over 140 but it was delightful to watch them bowl today minus Amir and Hasan Ali, who failed to bowl yorkers in this series in the end overs.

Today starc bowled a splendid reverse swinging yorker in menacing pace to dismiss ali

That was a great sight to watch, any bowlers dream

Faheem should work on his length. Has a natural variation with the ball coming in. If he gets the length right and gets the ball to hold it's shape, specially on seaming tracks, he can be a very good bowler for Pakistan.

Aamer Yamin is not a bowler. He can be good for 5-6 overs in the middle on sticky, slower surfaces. More of a proper batter. He should work more on his batting and power hitting to be honest. Clutch player though.

Mohammad Nawaz got away with it because NZ usually suck against any kind of spin and this was the first time they played him. Imad is a much better option, specially if he improves his fitness.

They bowled quite well yesterday. Role of yorkers has changed significantly from Waqar's time. Now its more of a defensive delivery to contain run scoring. Wickets come by way batsmen trying to hit out against the yorker vs. Waqar's era which was basically snarling 150 km/h stuff.
in that respect - i think all three bowlers yesterday did well with the yorker.

Wow you spotted this talent relatively early!

Really weak death bowling again today. You can forgive Hasnain perhaps as he is still quite raw, but you would expect better from Hasan Ali and Junaid.

Azhar Mahmood is the bowling coach so he must have gone through plans with all the fast bowlers, it may be because he himself can’t bowl yorkers he cant tell them to. This is depressing

Can we get the basics right? Where are the yorkers? Why bowl length at death?

Junaid Khan found wanting as he couldn't deliver a yorker. Other bowlers look like didn't have practice. Only Hassan Ali bowled them when it was too late already.

Don't our bowlers practice yorkers? Who bowls length balls at the death? What is our objective at death overs? Are we providing opportunity to opposition for maximum damage?

Ward asking Waqar what has happened to Pakistan's yorkers when they used to be the best 20 years ago, and his answer was that the bowlers are too young. :91:

Seriously with brains like this, is it any wonder that they don't have any idea?

And Hasan Ali got immediate dividends when he did bowl one to Curran.

Hassnain was bowling Yorkers at will during the PSL. He couldn't even get one Yorker in today.

Don't know what to say. Has to be mental strength and Pressure of big games(International Level) because it's certainly not a lack of skill.

Some wonderful ones by Shaheen Shah Afridi against Zimbabwe!

Where’s the Yorkers? I’ve not been watching ball to ball in the PSL but I’ve yet to see a Yorker being bowled🤨

You gotta practice them. These skills aren't gained from thin air.

Even during PSL6 there is a distinct lack of yorkers from the bowlers.

Very poor really.

I think shaheen is comfortable bowling the yorkers akif tried to bowl the yorkers.
