Travelling in the US atm and just astonished by the number of US flags everywhere (maybe result of Independence day) but in general seems Americans very proud of their nation.

Is that something we should all learn from or is this sign of something else?

One should imo they are proud of their nation and they have worked their way up,My school's founder used to say stop taking the negative characters from America if you want to take something take up their "patriotism" ,tbh though some of them confuse patriotism with white nationalism.

One law one country and somehow all the races(immigrants) from around the world seem to fall in line in USA imo.(compared to other countries)

One country where the flag is even more prominent than in America; Turkey, in fact if i remember the translation, their whole national anthem is a poem addressing the flag ......

its independence day month so naturally it is even more prevalent than it would normally.

Quite a few Americans do have flags on their front porches all year round.

I find nothing wrong with it. It's their right. It's a brilliant flag and they have every reason to be proud of their great country

Am guessing a few of these flags flying around today in USA!

Happy Independence Day to our US friends.

Yep, flags are pretty common. You’ll find it even on shirts, shorts, etc.

Canadian flags outside houses in Toronto is common as well.

Iirc India had a rule where you couldn’t hoist the national flag in your private property.

America is a country which was forged by immigrants, mostly from Europe, so with a limited history I think they use the flag to try to build pride in their country. Countries like the the UK, Germany and France don't need to wave flags to show patriotism, they have centuries of culture behind them which breeds the self confidence of nations who know their worth without needing to shout about it.

It is sad that patriots are calling right wing extremists by those who want anarchy in the country. The leftists are a curse to the world.

I must admit I read the news that the Confederate symbol is finally going to be removed from the Mississippi flag with a tinge of sadness. I realise that it has links to slavery and white pride, but those were iconic memories of the American deep south. They gave us great films like Gone with the Wind and Django Unchained, now it seems all of this history is slowly being erased.
