Been a long time coming and there were some ups and rather large downs (about 5 years) but he's done it!

The real test will be how quickly he does the next 50 ....

But for the moment, let us rejoice at the talent of the Wonder Kid.

Congrats to him, hopefully he goes from strength to strength henceforth

Can't believe it's been 8 years since his debut and he has played only 50 Odis. The amount of discussions there have been about him on various forums and media, you would expect him to be a veteran of 500+ International matches.

Could have had 200+ wickets in both of the main formats by now had things worked out differently.

Though he hasn't played many matches, certainly a wonderful talent. His performance in the Asia Cup 2016 against India was spectacular.

Plus he only averages 27 which is special in the modern era, with a terrific sr of 33. He's a wicket taker, he just needs more support from the fielders, improve his physical strength and maybe get some more swing. Then again I think he'll find swing in England as he did last year.

Keep it up!

Also his economy his best among all pacers playing currently for Pakistan.

A big lol at people who want him to be dropped. Allright, he isn't taking many wicktets but he is a smart bowler who you need in big games and he isn't expensive either.
He needs to work on his swing and just need to pitch the ball a bit fuller. The conditions in England will suit his bowling. Bowled beautifully at the end yesterday. Needs to work hard though.

That isn't a great strike rate. Ishant Sharma has a lower SR.

It's a decent SR. Just to give Amir's stats some perspective - here are the leading 10 ODI wicket takers in the last decade:

Over all - Amir's figures do not look too shabby across the board. Fairly consistent in all three facets. Hopes he keep going from strength to strength InshAllah.

His figures pre ban were amazing. If i can recall properly it was 25 wickets in 14 matches with an average of 24 and economy rate of 4.56.

Post ban he hasn't been the same. His average and economy rate have both climbed up. Still hoping he regains the swing and pace and works hard for it. Match rust is long way gone now. Needs to start delivering.
That said, I still think he is a smart bowler probably the smartest we have when it comes to setting batsmen up. Plus he still has a knack for providing the impact wickets. He did so in Asia Cup last year against Bangladesh getting 2 wickets i think in the 18th over getting the wicket of well set soumya sarkar, the game was left open until Sami handed it back to Bangladesh in the last over on a silver platter.

He is probably the only smart bowler we have right now. Junaid if given the same backing as given to Wahab Riaz, they can make a potentially lethal combo.
