I find it just annoying that we think India is some invincible Juggernaut. We have the bowlers that can take the Indians out cheaply. We beat Sri Lanka and England convincingly. I predict a Pakistan win. Is no one but me sensing a 92 vibe here ?? Theres also the fact that we don't have a Riaz playing. I cna think oif a 100 reasons why we're going to win this one... Just dont get the paranois here...Its the Indians that ned to be concerned that they are playing a side that beat England and Sri Lanka who inturn beat them..I sense the dawn of a new awakening..
 
For pakistan to compete they have to embrace the pressure and the fear they have when playing India
 
Pakistan needs to win a lot more than India. Hopefully, Pakistan wins here.
 
Key will be Hasan Ali and Junaid Khan to beat India..

Junaid Khan: "I will clean bowled KOHLI for duck"
Hasan Ali: "Hopefully I can win the match for Pakistan"

Also Aamer

Aamer: "I will repeat Asia cup heroics"

Also Fakhar Zaman

Zaman: "I will hopefully get a century against weak Indian bowling attack"
 
I came into this thread to write a lengthy reply as to why your wins against south africa and england don't mean much but then I saw the OP and felt no need to do so :srini
 
Looking forward to a cracker of a match. Hoping its competitive and entertaining, not as lopsided as the 2nd SF

I am not entirely assured of Indian win because of Pakistan's potent bowling attack and on such sticky wickets they have chance to beat us 5/10 times coupled with whatever reasoning (lack of?) you have provided, I concede that Pakistan will trounce India come 18th. :junaid

Are you for real? Fakhar Zaman, Hafeez and Azhar will be walking wickets against the likes of Bhuveneshwar Kumar and Bumrah. No matter how low Pakistan is able to restrict India, Pakistan has absolutely no chance.
 
India will beat Pakistan comprehensively. Today's performance is a herald of things to come, the pitch in the final is a dead wicket. On the bright-side, after a few changes in the middle order, once the champions trophy concludes, Pakistan will have a very decent ODI squad, so in that sense exciting times ahead..fingers crossed.
 
So this is the legendary OP I had heard so much about in other threads. Jinxing won't get you far, we're winning this one emphatically jinx or no jinx.

Don't underestimate Pakistan, they are a side to be feared and it's a big compliment for a side who is being abysmal to say the least for last couple of years.

Disagree, if we can restrict them to somewhere around 230-240, we've a good chance of beating India.
 
Its really difficult to make out whether the OP is an Indian troll/jinxer or a genuine Pakistani fan. He has been part of other TP threads where he does seem like a genuine Pakistani and not a troll.

You're being pessimistic. Pakistan don't have the ability to deal with pressure. After a decade of playing in front of empty stadiums and dead wickets, Pakistan have lost the flair and passion. Even if there's too many Pakistani supporters in the stands, the players bottle. And the mere thought of an India-Pakistan game gives the players on our side a countless number of sleepless nights.

We try to overcome this pressure by acting big and making big statements (e.g Sohail Khan) but deep down, the players know their just trying to make themselves feel better. Pakistan may have the ability to beat India (and that is still a big statement) but they certainly don't have the ability to deal with the pressure. Watch how we misfield, drop catches, miss run outs, miss stumpings and lose the match in the field without our abysmal batting even having to play a role.

All India needs to do is play their most average game and let Pakistan players shoot their own foot.

Firstly, your logic depends on the hopes that Pakistan wins the toss. Otherwise, we are totally out of the game. India are the best chasers of modern day cricket.

Secondly, even if Pakistan do win the toss, are you certain of Pakistan being able to handle the pressure? I don't think so. Should be a walk in the park for India. Like I said before, India just need to play their most average game and let Pakistan do a Pakistan.

I don't know how many of you actually get this or not but here it goes,

Pakistan team can't handle expectations not pressure, which they can easily handle.

Match against SA was a pressure match, and the Semi-final against England being a mismatch of highest order was a big big pressure match too but the one thing which was common among these two matches is the lack of expectations.

Fans expect Pakistan to trounce an inexperienced side like Sl? well they almost lost to them. Biggest evil to Pakistani side is expectations which is ironic as performance breeds expectations and they don't seem to handle it well.

First thing's first, we need to win the toss, you're right in saying Indians are best chasers in the world cricket atm, so in order to topple India on Sunday, we need a little bit of luck to go our way. Not saying Pakistan doesn't have the capability to bundle them out cheaply in second innings but the way things are going, we seem to be gaining a little bit of confidence in chasing targets and batting second will also increase our chances exponentially compared to batting first due to lack of assurance of what will be a good total against this Indian batting lineup. Think our batting unit will have learned their lessons from two collapses already in the tournament, so highly doubt we'll crumble yet again. However anything above 260 will be well out of our reach which is why our bowling needs to deliver on big stage and restrict them to a smallish total that allows our batsmen the breathing space to take their time and bat at their own pace. As far as pressure is concerned, we'll only know on that day how Pakistan copes with the extra pressure but I've a good feeling about this one, fingers crossed.
 
Depends which Pakistan shows up. On Sunday there has to be a fearless and aggressive Pakistan in the Oval and iAllah that will be the case
 
Pak are a good side, playing really well. Its just (a) the track record (b) India are an ATG team atm.

To be honest India IS an invincible juggernaut against Pak in recent times and it's gonna take years for us to win one game against them.

India isn't dominating Pakistan, they hardly play each other. Pakistan have lost last 2 games against them in ICC ODI's over period of 2-3 years. But Pakistan last year lost 4-1 against England as well.

If both played consistently then it will be even ratio because Indian bowling is made for Pakistan batters to increase their averages and SR. I fully expect Pakistan to beat the hell out of India on sunday.

Pakistan will demolish India on Sunday, Inshallah. Junaid, Amir, Hassan, Faheem, Raees would manhandle the overrated indian batting. The less said about indian phaast bowling the better, it's trundler brigade.

And CT is ICC tournament and India had to wait till 2013 to beat Pak in it. Sunday will be first final between Pak-India in ICC ODIs tournament and expect Pak to demolish India.

Nothing stop this train. England was by far best team in the tournament.
