Many times we see threads around here which ask what has arthur done, has he bought any progress or what so ever.

The result west indies series showed the result of the work they have been putting in behind, but it got overshadowed due to the retirement of younis and misbah.

If anyone noticed, in the recent west indies series, all our players sprinted and took risks to stop those singles, doubles or stopping the boundary. They were really active and even after a long day in the field they were taking wickets and fielding well.

A good example was the way hasan ali and abbas took wickets in the latter spells, amir bowling well in the latter spells aswell. And our players diving and sliding and speinting after the ball.

Even in the third test where the outfield was slow, which would make the players tired due to alot of fielding, they were still very fit even when the play reached its last hour.

I remember the maghrib chase where the sri lankan team were just too tired to field.

I think this series showed the work of arthur behind the scenes

Absolutely.

There were a lot of positives in the field. Our fielding/fitness in general (bar one or two individuals) has improved big time.

Even Ian Bishop pointed out that this is the best Pakistani fielding unit he's seen

The biggest effect we will see is 18/19 year olds right now who will grow in this new culture of fitness and good fielding. After 5 years we will see a new team full of strong athletes. Thats why I say 2023 WC will be the the WC we can challenge for the title.

Uhh no

Fitness isn't some switch which is turned on

We have been working on it since 2014

Also our fitness standards are well behind the other nations even now

not necessary.

The moment a new Chairman comes, the moment Arthur gets fired or his contract isn't renewed, the moment some Pakistani is asked to coach, the moment some dis interested coach comes, all this effort of Arthur will go down the drain.

It takes many years to make something, but takes only seconds to destroy it.

What i like about Arthur is that he has taken on Inzi aswell. He isn't the guy who just accepts what the selector offers, he makes his opinion count.

Fitness is something that even if you give 3 regular months, you could make a difference.

ANd if Pakistan was working on fitness since 2014 then trust me, the kakul camp would never had happened or would never had been needed.

Misbah use to bark about Fitness and no one cared about it. No one was interested.

Fitness only improved when Arthur came along. See why Sohail is out? Because of fitness.

I agree. Our fitness and fielding standards have improved in Mickey's reign.

Excellent and accurate posts - totally agreed. Only a biased person cannot see the improvements made with fitness and fielding, and the coaching staff deserve a lot of credit.

Am delighted with Arthur's fitness crusades. Unlike Waqar, he is gradually bringing the team up to par and knows what he is doing.

Arthur has done good job when it comes to fitness. Fielding has improved as well.

Give Arthur a young team and you'll see the full affects of his coaching. But with the revolutionary in charge of selection doubt we'll get too see a young side.
