What's new

The greatest song of all time ...

Very hard to pick but it would be "Wish you were here - Pink Floyd" followed by "Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin".

Greatest? No idea. In terms of what?

My favourite[/] is 'Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong.

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen . Another favourite of mine

Unpopular choice, but a song universally loved for many years since it came out ! A love song that pretty much defines a "Love Song" in english for vast majority of Desis.... But now people find it easy to **** on it , just to appear cool ..

You can't deny this songs place in the all time greats, in terms of popularity..

Céline Dion - My Heart Will Go On

Reminds me of my stalking days.Good thing about stalking is that it isn't looked down upon like west in subcontinent.Countless Bollywood movies are testament to that.

Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Sweet Child o Mine - Guns n Roses
Under Pressure - David Bowie and Queen
Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
California Love - Tu Pac

More than a feeling - Boston
Folsom prison blues - Johnny Cash
New York state of mind- Nas

Personally, mera paigham by Nusrat is the greatest.

Yeh jo des hai tera from Swades movie is another great one and this one really hits in you the feels, especially after coming back from your des.

As for English ones, I'd go with those with some meaning behind it like the one mentioned in the OP:
Changes by Tupac

One Love by Bob Marley.

Red Devil listen to this, incredible:

Matter of preference I guess. I doubt there's any universally agreed upon GOAT song. For me, personally, nothing comes close to this masterpiece:

Agree , Chaiyya Chaiyya is Bollywoods greatest period ! .. Right amounts of hindi and Urdu(I am unaware of the differences ) , Sufi Mysticism all tuned to the beat of the Steam locomotive and more over a Hindi song composed and directed by Tamils, shot by a Mallu and rendered majestically by a Punjabi , dunno where the Female singer is from.

I go into a trance every time I listen to this song .. SO CAPTIVATING ..

SRK is the reason why I began to watch Bollywood movies growing up he gave me my initial exposure and that scene in particular has been engraved in my mind, I can recall watching that movie on VHS with my aunty being enthralled by every second and just seeing Khan jump about on top of the locomotive with that pretty lady was just captivating, even some of our English neighbours got into it a bit and were fans of Khan :))

Yeah.!!

Him dancing on top of the train was, at that time extremely risky . But he still did it and looked convincing while dancing ! A lot of people tried t imitate this , and it led to a few deaths and injuries, to the point , the Indian Railways banned traveling on train tops for a long time..!

This is the image that a lot of people down south identify SRK by .. I know that DDLJ or KKHH are his more popular films, especially for his NRI "Raj" characters , with his trademark - "standing with open arms to embrace the girl !" .. But I think he hasn't done anything that topped this ..!

Also note how tanned SRK looks in this .. This was way before the bleaching craze hit the Bollywood heroes.
