The likes of Asif Ali, Khusdil Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed have played 50 plus games for Pakistan. The PCB gave Saim Ayub a long run in T-20s, ODI's and Test Matches inspite of mounting pressure to bench him for his consistent failures before he eventually came good with match winning knocks in Australia, South Africa.

Should the PCB not show the same tolerance, patience with the likes of Huraira, Irfan Niazi, Hasan Nawaz, Mohd Haris and keep picking them for the next 15-20 without caring about the team results or performances to allow them to eventually settle and come good?

Yes

Constant chop and changes breeds timidness and stat-padding.

It is not like the PCB had a world beating team with the likes of Rizwan and Babar who are not even T20 players to begin with.

Rizwan and Ifti chachoo were the reason we couldn’t beat SL in 2022 Asia Cup final since they were too busy tuk tuking and taking the game ‘deep’.

I think one thing needs to be very clear.

The only reason Asif Ali, Iftikhar, Khushdil etc were given long ropes is because,

1. They are not openers

2. None of them keep wickets

Had it been the case that they are openers or keep wickets, the dynamics of giving long ropes change massively in the context of Pakistan cricket with RizBar as the core batters.

Saim is a completely different case. It had become completely apparent that the RizBar combo is crap even for those who initially fought tooth and nail for it to remain, and therefore Saim was being pushed by the management and many sections of the fans who wanted an end to the RizBar torture. But even he was initially shifted out of position to accommodate RizBar as openers, and when he opened you had guys like @Mamoon on his case to hound him out of the side. They did their best to destroy him too. There was no long rope, it was more of a hope against hope situation that he pays off.

We should bring Iftikhar back for much needed lower order resilience and steel.

Players with higher ceiling like Saim Ayub will be given longer rope for sure.

It's tough because all Pakistani youngsters are high ceiling , talented youngsters but even in that group there are a few who stand out :inti
