Anyone watch trailer for Bollywood movie “The Man with no Pain” It has been picked to play at the toronto international festival which is a first of is kind. The concept in mind is very fresh with a very interesting premise. I was pleasantly surprised as I got a kickass vs Deadpool vibe and trailer shows a lot of inspiration from the 70’s Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan movies with a comedic feel from start to finish to it. Anyone who loved the 70’s style martial arts movie will love this one…

Correction the title is " the man who feels no pain" or " mard ko dard nahi hota".

" Maine pyaar kiya " fame Bhagyashree's son is debuting with this indie style movie directed by one of anurag kashyap's mentored director.

This is a copy of "Kick-a.ss" nothing else!! There also the main character can no longer feel pain because of screwed up nerve endings and hence decides to be a super hero.

Same basic concept but completely different execution so it can't be called a copy. "Insensitivity to pain"is reality afterall & kick a.ss borrowed the same real idea & made their own fictional story.
Just like batman is inspired from idea of
"Zorro".

It is very much a man who feels no pain tries to be a super hero and full comedy. That's Kick-a.ss in a nutshell. Of course it would be bollywoodized. I can even see hit girl in the trailer here and his girlfriend.

Peoples will definitely make the Hollywood connection even if the movies stands out on his own, but why is that again a "son of" has to debut ? What has he done to earn it ? When will nepotism ever end ? There are many talented peoples who get sidelined because of this.

Imagine all the Nawazuddin Siddiqui's who miss out because of this caste system.

But found out that this actor is half-Sindhi, so he has the warm wishes from Ancient Pakistan anyway.

Personally i allways though that star kids have a lot more to prove and have to put in even a greater deal of hard work since they know they got a lucky break and a steady platform to star their career with and that they know that in the end it falls on us the consumers to accept the movie and their acting in general. And didn't Bhagyashee act in like one movie or something but faded into oblivion. Think of all the kids of stars who didn't make it. There's a lot of them.

Also the concept of a person feeling no pain in my mind is fresh, Can't recall any particular story with this premise. Even the background music feels something out of the 70's

Is it set in the US or Canada? If that's 70's music it sounds like US disco funk so I am guessing it is set in Harlem or Chicago maybe?

No idea. I thought it has an american feel to it, but i thought the plot and location was all set in India, i could be wrong.

That's a circular logic to think of all who "didn't make it", the point is that star kids get too many chances as opposed to others, and they make their debut in big productions as well, which means that even if the movie is a commercial failure, the hype around the movie will be such that they'll at least gather millions of fans, and they'll build on that fan-base for the next 4-5 movies, and then have a "career" when they'll eventually get their first hit.

Someone from outside the fraternity will not even get that first big production movie.

Look at the likes of Nawazuddin Siddiqui who got famous basically in their mid 40s. If he was a "son of..." he'd have a movie at -25, and even if he failed, he would have got 3-4 other big productions before he turns 30, to redeem himself.

I am actually more interested in Stree and manmarziyaan. rajkumar Rao and Vicky kaushal respectively are fantastic actors.

That’s the whole point. It’s an ode to those old 70’s tv shows. That’s why they showed the vhs tape in the beginning.
I think he is talking about production quality which looks tv class maybe because character intro part where hero is talking to us basically which I don't think will be present in the movie so nothing to worry about it.

Yeah, I mean this has been selected to be screened at the Toronto international Film festival. So for this to be selected over there is no joke.
