The misuse of power by Pakistani captains at the Pakistan Super League

-Shan Masood exposed massively at KK! Removed a proper left handed opener in Sharjeel to open himself and embarrass himself! Not allowing the local talent to play for KK in Muhammad Akhlaq who is a much better T20 player than he is!

Let’s not forget Sir Shan Privilege Red Carpet Masood.

Saud is at fault, but I don't blame him as this kind of precedence was set by Babar & Rizwan for years and years, Saud is just following them. This pathetic culture of putting interest of individual player above team should be demolished somehow.
I blame him more.

It shows a complete lack of awareness. The tide has turned on Babar and Rizwan, yet Saud wants to replicate their formula after the sell by date has been reached and he is doing it in a worse way.

This is not true. He doesn’t want to replicate them. The guy who wants to replicate them is Abdullah Shafique. He is the one who is consciously zoning out from the match situation and staying mentally in his bubble

Saud on the other hand is struggling this year. Maybe he feels at ease or overwhelmed with Finn Allen on the other end…so it’s confused him a bit. Otherwise the guy knows for sure that there is no anchor role in T20s for openers.

Saud shakeel is a test player, problem is test specialists usually want the bowlers to bowl according to their strengths.

For example Steve Smith will never go from anything on the offside in test cricket. You wanna get him out? Then bowl wicket to wicket, that's it.

Saud is similar in that regard. Before his debut, he had only ever hit 6 sixes in domestic cricket including FC, List A, T20.

Those who had been following him since his early days would know that he would avoid pace and target spin.

That's not the case in t20 and odi cricket. You gotta loft, you gotta attack pace and you gotta get out of your comfort zone.

With that being said, the reason i don't hate Saud is cause he's good in one format which is test cricket. It's thanks to him Pakistan beat England otherwise we'd be getting a 2-1 on the cards.

Babar and rizwan are techincally inept in test, odi and t20. In saud case he's techincally solid but has to play out of his comfort zone. In babar's and rizwan's case they can't play left arm pace, anything that angels away from them, Spin etc etc for the life of em.

You need spray gun rauf or ngidi to help them.

How do you know he knows for sure? This is his first PSL as captain isn't it and he has completely went into his shell and played the worst cricket imaginable. We can go only go with whats infront of us and not what you think is in the players heart. As a captain, he has occupied the Top spot and pushed better players, who have bright futures into 6-7.

This may be the worst knock ever by any T20 captain in the history of T20 cricket! If he is feeling overwhelmed he shouldn't be anywhere near any leadership role ever.

1745922141381.pngThe thread is about captains and their misuse of power so a direct comparison with Abdullah Shafique is not something we can make easily but nevertheless as batters this is their PSL. You dislike Abdullah and like Saud so are making excuse for one and not the other. But the numbers in black and white are clear.

This is the first time Saud is opening in T20s if I am not wrong. He deserves reasonable chances to prove himself, he can be blamed if he is failing and still occupying an opening spot. Saud is just following selfish approach adopted by all other PSL captains including Shaheen & Shadab and for some fans he is the soft target. It's a human tendency, when you are given an authority, you will first use it to protect or prove yourself rather than thinking about others.
