The moon and star symbol these days has become a symbol of Islam, with many countries using it on there flags, but the question is why is it being used when it has occult and pagan orgins

First usage is reported in the Sumerian era, where the crescent was associated with the moon god Sin and the star with Inanna (who according to occultism and the Kabbalah was Adams first wife before Eve)

Later on it has been reported to be used by many occults to represent their gods and call on devils.

Romans, Templers, Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Persia, Mesopotamian era, The Bronze Age Canaan, Babylonians and many other cultures and empire are said to have used this symbol to symbolise the god Sin with the moon, along with a star representing Shamash, the sun god.

Should this symbol have a place in Islam? Are we worshipping something else without knowing it?

Every modern religion is rooted in paganism...
And sun, moon and stars are powerful symbols ...

Islamic seven heaven is also a borrowed idea...

Sun, moon, venus, mars, Jupiter, mercury and Saturn. ...these objects humans can see with naked eyes...so theology was built around it...

The star and crescent have nothing to do with Islam. It only became a widespread 'Islamic symbol' because of the Ottoman empire who used it on their flag. Before that it did not have any association with Islam, it is an ancient pagan symbol.

You can see here, the symbol of Tengrism (the ancient religion of the Turkic people) has a crescent on it. Perhaps this is why the Ottomans had it as one of their symbols?

Do the countries using the moon and star claim it to be a symbol of Islam? Maybe it's more tied to their culture rather than religion, nothing wrong with that if so.

funnily enough a lot of Evangelical Christians and Fundamentalists in the States say that the use of the crescent moon and star on the flags of Muslim countries is proof that Allah was not the same God as the one in the Old and New Testament but he was a pagan Moon God.

Hajj also was a pagan tradition before Islam but was incorporated into islam by the prophet. praying to the kaaba also. All religions are influenced by the surrounding they emerge in some way or another.

Muslims see it the opposite way. The first human built the Kaaba but was later taken over by Pagans.

Sure the cresent and star are not Islamic but lets not think everything is of pagan origin even though it may help you personally to believe this.

This is why im here, no need to thank me :)

Islam was the first and will be the last 'religion'. Its rituals , rules and customs were altered and changed throughout the times. The Prophets which were sent were turned into Gods or in to other personalities such as Kings etc.

KingKhanWC these are mere assertions of course that we have no way of corroborating if it was ever true or not.

What we do know that is that the Hajj was practiced by pagan tribes at the time of the Prophet the tribes circambulated the kaaba to honour their idols there is evidence for this happening.

Whether Adam ever existed and built the Kaaba or whether Abraham ever existed and went to Arabia to rebuild the Kaaba and whether the Kaaba and the Hajj was monotheistic in the first place and then it was later on corrupted none of it can be proved and simply comes down to a matter of faith in the book that says these things.
