He made his mind up a while ago that he only wants to play T20s. When he quitely said this amongst his team mates, it was all in the news and made a lot of people upset.

The fact of the matter is that Amir's heart is not into playing for Pakistan. He wants to play global T20 leagues and make quick cash.

I am pretty sure that Amir himself would be very happy at being dropped from Australia tests.
When your heart is not into something than things simply don't work.

Dont come up with rubbish. Its his dream to win the 50 over WC. He never said he wants to quit playing tests.

What he needs now is to work hard if he wants to come back.

I don't blame him for not wanting to play in UAE - that's why he's operating in a more passive mode because the conditions there are unforgivable for fast bowlers and puts a lot of strain on the body. Amir doesn't want to give everything every home season in UAE and risk getting injured in such conditions.

There was somewhere I read that if Imran was playing today, he would have skipped the UAE tests and I'm sure Wasim would have done the same.

Pakistan desperately needs to move out of the UAE because batsmen can't exhibit their shots against pace bowlers on dead wickets and the pacers are getting worn down evident from the injuries of Gul, Junaid and Bilawal Bhatti. When they come back they all went from operating 140-150 to 130k trundlers.

That's a reach.

Even if true, international cricket is your best friend.

It helps build a player's brand and increases their value. Remember, teams are running a business and the marketing potential of a high-tier international cricketer is just as important as winning. If Amir can't perform at this level then his stock will drop and ruin the idea of earning "quick cash."
