CSA CEO Haroon Lorgat speaking to the media

"We've always enjoyed our relationship with the PCB and got on well together and this relationship isn't that different from the one we have with other boards"

"The (South African) players made themselves available for the (World XI) tour"

"The players believe that its right to support Pakistan"

"Of course we encourage and support that and its important that we do help Pakistan in this period when there isn't a lot of cricket being played at all"

"It must be very difficult to play all your fixtures outside of your home venue so I am happy that players from South Africa made themselves available"

About a possible tour by South Africa

"Its too early to say so lets see how events unfold and how the situation is in Pakistan but this is a big step to build confidence"

"Sometimes in the future we will see whether the team is ready to tour or not"

"The way you measure (the impact of the PSL) is that the talent that was uncovered during the PSL featured in the Champions Trophy final at The Oval"

"That is a huge impact in such a short period of time from the PSL"

"I am hoping for the same thing for South Africa cricket"

"The league we have structured here consists of top names from the world of cricket"

"Lets hope they can help us develop our youth and share their world-class experiences with the local youngsters"

Well done. I only read some demoralizing statements from Paul Collingwood. Has he agreed for the tour now?

Funny how beliefs change according to the paycheck attached to said belief.

Good stuff from Lorgat and good to see SA players take this decision

i have a feeling south africa will be the first top non asian team to tour pakistan

don't have hopes from nz and england and especially australia who were not keen to tour even when other teams were

If you care about Pakistan cricket soo much, then send your international team over. simple as that

If PCB weren't paying these high salaries, i doubt these guys would had bothered to come. Money matters.
If these players care soo much, you already got 5 guys coming over. Thats half of a team, why not find 6-8 more and form a squad and send them over.

You recently had an A team tri series, couldnt invite Pakistan who were free due to Indian pressure, and here you talk about caring for pakistan.

Not that i want you to care, but dont sell it at least

Five of their top players are touring anyways so it won't be a stretch to see their full team visiting.

Dont forget some players real motivation would be money. South African players arent paid well compared to Big3. So, not surprised so many saffas keen on grabbing the opportunity to earn quick cash. Ask them to tour Pakistan without any monetary benefits and then we can believe what they say.
I wonder if PCB would continue to offer cash to teams visiting Pakistan.

Investments from Lahore Qalandar and Peshawar Zalmi in Global League probably had a role too. But what must be realized here is that the same amount of money offered to South African players was on the table for other players from other teams as well. Yet the World XI team members were the only ones that agreed. This means that we, the Pakistanis, should be eternally grateful to them, no matter how fat the paycheck.

They earn their fair share from IPL and other leagues and counties.

Look, I'm very thankful to these players for touring but let's not call this anymore than what it actually is which is a huge payday and the easiest money these players players have made in three days.

And even if this series goes successfully, which I'm sure it will. It still begs the question whether teams will tour Pakistan for month-long tours where they are not being paid these massive paychecks.

South Africa are firmly my #2 team now after this great gesture, beating out England. They've been better to us than some of our neighbors who did not have the decency to send even a single player for this series.

India or bcci does not owe you anything.

PSL really allowed us to express ourselves to world cricket. The main reason cricket is coming back home.

England can also be the first team to tour Pakistan among non Asian teams. Their chairman Giles Clarke, Director Andy Flower and security expert Rig Dickason, all are in contact and mostly in good relations with PCB. They have LOI series with WI during same time which is why there is no current England player in World XI.

Somehow, it seems that some expect a squad to tour Pakistan for standard paycheques with char annay in cash, and a serving of aloo chole.

I'm sure it's a big pay day, but I wonder how many 'fans', would risk their own lives and worry their families for a job for no extra incentive.

It's some desi entitlement.

Even with PCB paying a lot extra they could only find about 5 international standard players.

If it was just money, they wouldn't worry their families.

It's possible to care about Pakistani cricket without being an Edhi about it.
