Had the senior/junior teams been doing alright many would question his involvement in cricketing matters but now with Pakistan facing failures at all age groups and that too even at Asia level, Imran Khan has the perfect excuse to take matters in his own hand and bring change.

The U-19 results are more of an eye opener than the senior level results because they clearly show the smaller nations have made rapid strides at the grassroots level while Pakistan which was once the most formidable nation at junior level purely in terms of skills and maturity of its junior players now comes across way short of its opponents in term of skill and professional approach.

Is the money being spent honestly? I am not sure if Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are spending more on their Cricket. Afghanistan also i am not sure is capable of it. Where are PCB's funds going? If Pakistan is spending more per capita on its cricket than some of the other nations then PCB is answerable for each penny and Imran Khan must put in place checks to ensure that.

Lastly a review of all the coaching staff, selectors is must.

It is time everyone involved from players, to officials, to coaching staff be put through strict performance review and be held responsible for this fiasco.

A worried well wisher of Pakistan Cricket.

Bhaijaan.

I believe he has many other top priority issues he has take care for the sake of the country than worry about the cricket.

If he manages to fix the country system, take away corruption and nepotism, cricket itself will take care of itself.

Imran has more important issue to take care of.

As far as cricket is concerned then the last u.19 team produced Shaheen Shah Afridi. Imam Ul Haq is also from u.19.

Pakistan made it to the semis of last u.19 WC in 2018, so it's not bad. Yes they lost to BD and SL, but it's cricket. SL and BD are strong teams at. u.19. The important thing is that the u.19 produce 2-3 high quality cricketers. End result are not that important. Take a look at 2006 Pakistan u.19 team that won the WC and tell me how many players become star players for Pakistan. Can only recall Sarfaraz.

Also earlier I think Pak u.19 cheated a lot with age. Most players were 2-3 years older on paper. I think that practice is difficult now. You might still see this in Afghan u.19 and maybe also in SL and BD u.19.

This could be the reason.

To my brothers above, i think you are not understanding the role Cricket plays in Pakistan. Cricket is the one and the only sport that brings Pakistanis under one roof. Cricket defines the mood of this nation.

Yes, there is no doubt Imran Khan has far greater things to take care of but he can and he must spare some time for Cricket. He will have high profile officials working on his behalf.

Id much he rather focus his attention on fixing withing the country.

Completely agree with OP. No matter how bad law and order, electricity, water, traffic are, when cricket team is doing well, there is joy in the country. It's just sport - football does this in many other countries.

All Imran Khan has to do is get the right people in, give them a blueprint and set them free. It will go a long way for his own popularity.

If Imran Khan has any role in cricket it’s to stabilise and bring professionalism into Pakistan cricket.

He should have no business in the nitty gritty such as reviewing the coaching staff and selectors.

Main thing he should be involved in is fixing domestic cricket if anything.

Common man, you can't really expect Prime minister of a developing country to run the cricket board. That is demeaning of his position. What about Hockey, football, Olympics ?. I am sure common man of Pakistan voted him to fix economy and other issues.
