What's new

The world's least livable cities in 2021 - Karachi ranked 7th!

Tripoli surprises me, it used to be one of the best in MENA until the civil war.

As you say UNTIL the war, which was supposed to help the people. Where is the media now? Why no reports about the situation?

Corrupt to the core.

Both those corrupt politicians and those who elected them are to be blamed?

For third world countries town planning is probably considered a luxury. Shame because Karachi has a lot going for it, some of the biggest stars such as Shahid Afridi call it home.

Has Billo done a Press conference on this? Into the 13th year and its getting worse. Where did all those billions for Sindhs development go?

Imagine being locked in a room with 10 other people. The only view you have of the outside world is a small window near the ceiling. And that is the rest of your life till you die.

That is how Gaddafi did to those who opposed him.

Yes, Libya is a mess now, but it wasn't anything good before that either. Of course the Western companies and universities had no problem accepting Gaddafi's money.

Just watch the press conferences after the budget. The federal govt has openly said they wont be giving major money for development to the provincial govt willy nilly. Why? because it goes to the zardari family. Just read how much has been given to larkana and its still a dive..no development nothing.

But the west is fully behind this fat tin pot sindhi wadera..they would love this coward to become the PM..

Tripoli was a lot more developed, back in the 2000s they started an ambitious program to "beat Dubai by 2020" so Gaddafi was investing billions of petrodollars into Tripoli's infrastructure and was attracting migrant labor from all over the world including India. Libya had the highest quality of living in all of Africa, of course it wasn't perfect and had inequities between regions and ethnic/tribal groups which led to anti-Gaddafi sentiment but in general Libya was far better then any other country in MENA or Africa and now it's worse off without him

The Karachi which we see on TV is only 1% of the actual Karachi. The rest of the 99% of Karachi is riddled with crime, lack of sanitation, overpopulation, dysfunctional roads and schools and widespread poverty.

Then would probably make sense not to have opposed him and live in comfort and living conditions far better than now.

Actually the cities of extreme countries weren't even considered at all because they would be at the bottom. These Rankings are for countries and cities where some stability exists.

When it comes to feeling (rightly or wrongly) that they have been deprived of freedom, many people do not act in the rational manner you suggest... for example, the Kashmiris!
