His bowling is the definition of mediocrity; was smacked all over the park and got his only wicket off a rubbish delivery, courtesy of a brilliant catch by Fakhar.

The less said about his pathetic batting, the better.

As for his fielding, there aren't many sights more infuriating than seeing him fielding as if he's in his eighties; lazily poking at the ball with his shoe to try and stop it and half-heartedly attempting to bend over to stop the ball (by the time he bends over, the ball has crossed the rope). His catching is also atrocious, to put it mildly.

If we can't get rid of him after infinite listless displays like the one today, what's the point of picking far superior players in the squad just to sit around and do nothing?

Maybe Tannu's performance today was just an elaborate April Fools' gag and he'll release his inner Botham tomorrow.

Hopefully Arthur replaces him with a competent cricketer in the final match.

But he is experienced, he knows west indies conditions,he is our best t20 bowler, and he is experienced, and he has a tool kit, and he is the best cricket brain in pakistan and he is expereinced, by the way did I mention that he is expereinced ?

For the next game, Ruman in and Tanvir out. Ruman is a good t20 bowler, unbelievable how he hasn't gotten 1 game so far.

What do franchises around the world see in him which makes them pay Top Dollars? Is he just not good enough at International level but a beast in Domestics and Franchises?

I have never rated him, I don't understand how he gets contracts in Franchises?

Mind explaining why he's better?

Slightly quicker, doesn't just relay on the slower ball and if you saw the PSL he actually bowled well. Also has the confidence and belief in himself.

I don't understand why you think he's so rubbish. For t20s he's a good option.

Ruman is younger, hungrier and can be taught. Sohail was never good, never athletic and always a liability in batting and fielding (even if he had a good day bowling).

Exactly. In his interview with PP he was happy to be learning of Wasim and Deano.

They probably think his unique, i.e. ugly :31: bowling action makes him special in some way.

As far as international cricket is concerned, once players get accustomed to the dislocated appearance of his shoulder when bowling, taking him to the cleaners is just a formality.

same kind of thread was created in around mid-2016 and now in 2017 same kind of thread but kukad is not leaving cricket. OMG will he be in pak team after 2050 ??

Tanvir has far more variety and he can swing the ball. He has advantage of height and awkward release which makes him difficult to pick.

Raees is a just a poor man's Tanvir.

Usman should play over them both.

Some people think out and out pace is the only solution. They need to realise we are not living in Shaoib Akhtar's era anymore. Rumman is very clever bowler and deserves chance ahead of Usman.

Yet Raees outperformed Tanvir in the PSL.:wahab2

Rumman needs to crank up the pace to be in contention. And he knows it as well.

Rumman should replace him.

Raees is a quality bowler and Tanvir is anything but..

Both Raees & Usman should be in tomorrow.

Rest Wahab and drop/ban Tanvir.

If Tanvir is playing tomorrow I'll slap the person closest to me to death.

Definitely it should be,Rumman should come for him in the final match and afterwards Amir should be permanently in the team in that slot.

Raees has improved since the 1st psl.

He is gaining more pace. Last T20I he played he bowled a few at 143, Makes his slower bowls more effective.

if Rumman and Shinwari don't play today, then it will be unfair to them.

Shukar Alhumdulilah

Thank you Saifi

#best captain since Waz

He;s been dropped before but is always back. Hope its for good this time

Ruman doing good . its good sohail got 3 matches and did nothing . now no complaints

I don't think you can play both Sohail Tanvir and Wahab Riaz together in T20Is as both have the capability to go for plenty in most matches. Occasionally they will have a good day but that's a rarity.

With Amir, Hasan Ali and Rumman all showing promise that leaves the pressure on Tanvir and Wahab.

Somebody please send this post off to the Pakistani management team and selectors!

Junaid Khan needs to fight for a spot there should be some competition sometimes the fast bowling unit have been taking things for granted that England match was a sign.

They don't shine or take care of the balls these days in LOI except Wahab who even gives bit of the old forehead sweat clean with the ball and Amir does too but the fielders not much used to be bread and butter. They got it to reverse in the last few matches Cement stands; six tonkering sure did play a part.

Amir should be in playing XI in place of Wahab while Hasan and Rumman are fine for T20s. Amir also actually offers solid slogging option as well instead of Riaz's hit or miss which is more miss these days.

For ODIs you go with Amir, Junaid, Hasan, Shadab, Imad and Malik.

Rumman put in a good show yesterday, so hopefully he will get a more regular opportunity soon. Tanvir and wahab are our weak links at the moment, they have the ability to bowl a few loose overs and kill the momentum created by our strike bowlers, i.e shadab, hassan, imad etc. Rumman bowled with good control hope he gets some chances in the odi's.

Trundlers like Hasan Ali and Rumman would never have taken a wicket if Wahab hadn't first put the fear of God into the Windies. Its like the England Test series; once the poms had gotten a sniff of Wahab they handed their wickets over to Sohail rather than have to face the pace machine Riaz again. Pakistan needs a bowler who can make things happen and everyone knows that on his day Wahab can turn a game.

Seriously though. I'm not sure how much promise Amir is showing; been in pretty mediocre T20 form for the past year. Wouldn't mind bringing in more youngsters.

Imad is getting picked already ... asghar has to be the second spinner.. Shadab is a very good batsman, poor mgmt and seniority culture makes him bat at no.8...In the WI ODI series IMAD might work because of the inexperience of WI team ... but in CT he will be smashed all over the park...

Guys,
Pakistan cricket is famous for bringing back TTFs like Tanvir, Hafeez, Shahzad, Kamran, etc. So I will not be surprised if Tanvir is brought back after 1-2 series.
He has some sort of a spell on the PCB and its employees [i.e. Chief Selectors] it seems. Despite a decade of pathetic performance the guy manages to make a comeback again and again. But that's Pakistan Cricket for you...

I don't think i have hated any pakistan player more than Tanvir. Tough fight between Imran Farhat and Tanvir imo for who is the most hated....Right now Tanvir is winning that race because Farhat thankfully is nowhere near the ODI/Test/T20i/PSL team.

PCB thinking of giving Sohail a proper sendoff by arranging a T20 vs Kenya

Sohail will captain the side he will open the batting and bowling and will field at point team composition will be

S Tanvir c
Azhar
Hafeez
Kamran+
Bhanja
Malik
Umar
Afrisi
U Gul
Ajmal
Sami

Bench Farhat I Nazir Fawad

Tanvir isn't (wasn't) a bad LO bowler. Swing, lift, variety from an awkward action, decent pace .... that's until 8/9 years back, in his late 20s, early 30s.
