Time for Junaid Khan to shine and take over from Mohammad Amir as spearhead?

Mohammad Amir is on sick leave and now Junaid Khan can surely take on the senior mentor's role and lead the bowling attack?

I cannot think of a better chance for Junaid to make himself the number on choice in LOIs than this series but question is does he have the hunger to do that?

He deserves another go in tests. The UAE is not a friendly place for fast bowlers. The likes of Johnson were totally ineffective there.

He's done it before. 13 wickets against SL in 2013/14 ODIs series, only below Saeed AJmal in wickets

Think too much being put on Hasan's shoulders - give him time to grow.

Lol didn't you see the CT? Who was the one getting the key breakthroughs apart from the final? It was Hasan Ali. He'll step up.

Absolutley, I was shocked how Junaid had been ignored for both T 20 and Tests since the Champion trophy. He should be also considerd for tests

I think Imad will be the standout bowler for us in this series. Sri Lanka haven't seen much of him and he is tough to play in the deserts of UAE.

He's played four games against SL in OD cricket in which he averages nearly 50. Even Australia know how to completely nullify any threat he presents whilst bowling.

Junaid and Hasan need to take wickets and fire if we are to win the series. Imad is a containing option and Shadab I fear won't be that effective in ODI's at this stage of his career.

Maybe he should and also replace him in the Test squad for the near future

What you talking about man he was our best bowler against SL in 2015. He was the reason we won 3-1 vs SL and qualified for CT 2017. It was a must win series and Azhar was captain.

His record against SL:
4 games 3 wickets...

I actually think the bowler of this series will be Rumman Raees. He was brilliant when suddenly dropped into the semi final and I love his attitude and work ethic. I think he will realise what a great opportunity he has here with Amir injured and grab it with both hands to cement his place. And with Hassan a sure starter these days, it will actually put pressure on Junaid when Amir returns.

I have very fond memories of Junaid, in particular the Aane Do series, and I believe he was criminally underrated for a long time. However I don't think he is a spearhead any longer. He performed great in the Champions Trophy and deserves more chances however I do not expect him to be in the team by the next World Cup, especially with the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Shinwari (who seems to be highly rated by management right now) and potentially one of the pacers from the Lahore development squad who has the most brains (they all seem to posses decent talent).

Hasan is clearly Pakistan's most potent bowler. Junaid is a but a support bowler

Yes but in those games, he spun the ball around, he kept it tight from one end, we won the matches because of our spin and we kept srilanka restricted. Hafeez and Imad were very important for that
