Kabil, really ? I started watching it on netflix, could not finish in two "tries" , so boring. NOt even close to reality, even though its a film but nothing makes any sense.

2017 hasn't been a good year for bollywood if these 3 are the top films this year

Bariley Ki Barfi was surely a very nice movie.

Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon are top notch!

Yes - both absolutely terrible. The humour in Punjab Nahi Jaungi is particularly crass.

For all the chest thumping, Pakistani movie releases are a million miles behind Bollywood. There is no comparison.

Bollywood too has struggled for a decent release for some time. Hindi Medium, although a decent idea, had a poor script, with a very predictable ending.

Last good movie was in 2016 - Dangaal.

Bareilly ki barfi had pretty good acting,if anything the female lead didn't even have a touch of Delhi accent in Hindi medium ,Irfan killed it though.

Badrinath ki dulhaniya,I watched that thinking of Govindas 90s kinda movies so enjoyed it as well, obviously not even close to Govinda but still.

Both Bolly and Lollywood produce rubbish. Only difference is with our so called revival we Pak's make a song and dance over every new release. There is nothing brilliant about Bollywood either that you are rejoicing over other then being a lot more technically advanced. Most of them are flops and/or remakes of Hollywood movies.

And whilst Bollywood has been churning out a load of rubbish recently, in amongst it all, there are generally a good few films. Dangaal was an example I gave. Your assertion that most Bollywood films are flops, or Hollywood remakes is a lazy stereotype. They may be remakes....but they more often than not look to regional cinema for their 'inspiration'.

Whereas a film like Jab Harry Met Sejal, no matter how bad it is by Bollywood's standards, would have been seen as something revolutionary in Pakistani cinema.

Both of them were pathetic movies and less said about Harry is better.What does he think about himself? Does he think he's in mid 20s that he's romancing a women of his daughter age? He should now look to cast himself with actresses like Tabu,Divya Dutta,Madhuri etc

Trust me you're not missing out on anything. Bollywood have be churning out their usual love masala crap. Even the Khan's have been horrible off late. It seems Bollywood writers are running out of ideas and are remaking the old movies. I havent spend a dime on bollywood movies in Canada except for PK and im very avid lover of movies and visit cinemas once or twice a month.

When i used to be in India( almost 10 years ago) no Pakistani dramas were televised. Those days, Saas-Bahus crap hijacked the entire Television air time specially during evenings. It was legit cringeworthy as they would stretch the entire episode for one scene

Yes, I know what you mean. There are dramas that are not about the usual, tear-jerking, emotionally-draining 'saas-bahu crap', as you so eloquently put it!

Pak being in revival mode views upon everything as being great. Bollywood is much more established yet most movies are still flops. It should be compared to Hollywood if anything. No I disagree, most Bolly movies are Hollywood remakes, to many to name. Bolly spends much more on production value and sets which is why iit is well ahead of our Lollywood.
