TRD Fake or not?

Hi All

I am looking into buying a TRD and have been offered one for a good price but it would seem a little to good. I have been emailed some photos of the bat and to me it looks like the real thing but I just don't know.
Whats the best way to tell?

Toe guard is the CA12000 light blue/purple, Grip seems to be goldish in colour, and the CA logo has been burnt onto the edges. Bottom of the bat also looks quite square.

If the grip is gold/goldish and priced much lower then its definitely a fake.

Ca u plz sed me the photos of the bat and also who is selling. I will forward the photos to CA owner as he will give us definite aswer if it is genuine or fake.
A few days ago a guy from Birmingham tried to sell me CA TRD bats but it tuns out that they were fake

Mine does not look as good the stickers on the edge of the one being offered to me are to close together and the grains are nowhere near as nice as these.

I will PM you the details of the chap and see if its the same guy.

I have added pictures in OP.

The bat looks a bit okay, however, the grains and willow certainly doesn't look CA TRD standard, there are much better willow used for TRD model and this does not look CA TRD standard at all.

Having said that bat is definitely a CA bat, toe of CA bats are like this.

Do you mind telling us the us price he quoted you for TRD?

I remember Sialkot Shop was having good deal on CA TRD couple of days back, maybe shoot them an email.

I have a feeling above is a CA 12000 Plus restickered bat...:20:
 
I was offered the bat for £145 which is £40 cheaper than Sialkot Shop quoted for a CA TRD and the price for a 12000 plus was £162.

Uzi was offered bats from the same guy and has confirmed that they are fake so will be sending the chap a email tomorrow.

On the flip side if the bat is a CA 12000plus and he is selling them for £145 then its still a good price....

£145 is definitely not a CA TRD price, from CA Factory TRD goes around Rs. 23,000 which is close to £160 so there is no way it can be TRD.

Not really £145 is expensive for a CA 12000 Plus, despite bats have gotten expensive in Pakistan I'm sure CA 12000 Plus is still not sold for £145 in Pakistan.
 
This is a hard one, even with my well trained eyes I am having difficulting spotting it as fake/real. I would be able to tell if I can see the bat in real.
If its possible get few more pictures of handle a close up of top of handle.
or ask the seller what color are the springs/rubbers in handle.
If they are black then its a fake.

I would probably say fake, probably. The back shape of the bat just does not like TRDish to me - there should be more con caving I think. Im just comparing this to the TRD I have.
 
I am sending these photos to CA Owner, lets see what he says. i agree with Uzair that there is no way someone sell the bat less than the trade price. Plus I have never seen that colour Toe guard on TRD bats.
 
I will stick my neck out and say this is a fake bat; the grains and the side profile do not look genuine.
 
I think its fake(although not 100% sure)here is why:

1.The burnt CA logo-

Original=

As you can see the position of the logo is in different places,
the original logo is more in the bottom area,
while the fake logo is much higher.


2.The grains are not as straight as a normal TRD would have.


3.The shape is also a bit wierd I guess

Why don't you just buy a genuine ca bat from a reputable source. At the moment your looking at trying to save £20-40. Is it worth it? If you can't afford it at the moment then save up until you can.
 
task sports seller on ebay is genuine has many CA bats at great prices, plus extra power is £100.
 
True I have bought many items from Task sports, very reliable and have quick delivery. They are selling the New CA 12000 YK bats as well.

Thanks for all the help and info, I will send the guy trying to sell the bat an email and will let you all know the response. Will still be getting a CA bat....
 
Will wait and see what the plus15000 looks like or if not that then a 10000plus or above. :)
 
No not my first, had a CA gold about 7 years ago which was a gun, since then I have had a SG cobra, and bulldog growler but I loved the CA and as I have a brand new pair of CA 12000 plus gloves it gives me more reason to get one.

Another CA Gold lover here :))

Thats good to hear how high you rate CA, with CA introducing top models (most recently CA Y-King, CA 15000 Plus etc) means quality of willow for CA 10000 Plus and CA 12000 Plus is going downhill as newer top end ones are introduced.

I was going through CA TRD bats we have in stock and noticed that there are 2 different profiles bats, one has little higher middle than the other and also one has higher spine than the others. If people are interested i can take photos and share it with you

Guys just to add to the prices quoted by Sialkot Shop there price INCLUDED postage to the UK.

So great prices from them.

They look really nice, grain structure is nice but apart from the grains ad the location of the CA logo I cant see a difference between yours and the one I was offered. Could it be as they have started the 15000 range the newly manufactured TRD's are of a lesser grade wood? ie the grains are not quite what they used to be?

that will be the case from now on
 
So could it be TRD I was offered is of the lesser clefts and the branding has been moved slightly higher by CA so they can keep track of when they started to use the lesser clefts for the TRD bats?
 
CA just announced and released CA 15000 Plus range and it was probably within a week ago, if production has started for CA 15000 Plus then I'm sure it hasn't been within week time frame.

So the one you were offered was made sometime ago before CA had even sponsored Chris Gayle and announced CA 15000 Plus.

I will really be disappointed if that is the case; the TRDs have been so delectable to look at that to see anything less from now on is a dampener.
 
Asad, it looks like one of the bats is a lot more concaved than the other?

I think the middle is a little higher than most of the SS bats.

Anyone wants to experiment and buy one and let us know ? ;)
 
I would say it is not high as it looks like in the pictures, it really isn't.

Icon middle seems to be high in pictures but in reality I won't say it is very high.
 
I was thinking of CA Y-King all CA came out with CA 15000 Plus Chris Gayle :facepalm:

Seems like they know how to toy with buyers ;-)

Just got an email and phone call from CA owner who is good friend of mine ad he has confirmed that BAT is FAKE. He is going to take certain actions against the seller...

If you have doubt about any bat or seller of CA equipment, plz send me the details so I can check with the CA guy or u can send an email direct to CA. he wasn't very happy when he looked at the photos and has asked his agent in UK to take actions against seller not authorised to sell CA equipment.
I have a meeting set up with him on his visit to UK next month so if you guys have any questions plz let me know and I'll ask him.

Hopefully Frank didn't buy the bat.

This guy sells fake stuff. Look at the thread I had created on Fake TRDs on ebay.
