True bad luck at IPL Auction: Doesn't get more freakish than this

This years top scorer in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament Harpreet Singh, did not get an IPL contract because some other cricketer called Harmeet Singh got arrested for driving his car on a railway platform the day before the auction and various news agencies misreported the name as Harmeet Singh causing at least one franchise that intended to bid for him to avoid doing so.

Lol one colossal misfortune on his part, feel sorry for him but what's even more ludicrous is the incompetency of news channels for reporting the wrong guy without doing their proper research and equal clumsiness of franchises for blindly believing the news piece without looking more into it and hence ignoring the right guy 'cause of the wrongdoings of wrong guy just 'cause they both share a somewhat similar name. Shambles!
