Vegan slams 'joke' flight meal with fruits and nuts as hot meal on six-hour flight

Juanita Headley was handed pineapple pieces, a tangerine and a handful of nuts on her KLM flight from Ghana to London Heathrow and was outraged by the 'hot meal'

The motivational speaker had already opted for a hot meal on board - as part of the complimentary service.

But when on board the six-hour connecting flight, she said she was given pineapple pieces, a tangerine and a handful of nuts.

A few hours later, she claimed crew gave her a cold vegan wrap, a banana and an additional bowl of nuts.

Its your choice what you eat. She had the opportunity to buy her food and bring it on the airline but would rather kick up a fuss?

Halal doesn't have to be meat, a vegetarian meal is always available on any flight. Ive mostly had veggie when travelling unless Im on Qatar or Emirates. Ive never seen a Muslim complain they want Halal meat.

Veganism is far too restrictive, you cannot expect airlines to cater for this esp with small numbers of people wanting this.

Its not the story, the passenger demanded VEGAN food, which is not the same as a veggie meal. Ive been on KLM many times to Amsterdam and even to Bangkok, the airline has plenty of veggie food to offer. A very good airline with good hostesses.

KLM do offer Vegan options but you must pre-order 24 hrs or so before the flight takes off.

My point is this lady feels her diet is so important, she made a fuss instead of bringing her own food or making a pre-order.

Vegans are annoying on purpose.

Why anyone would want to be a Vegan is beyond me? Not eating cheese is a sinn imo.

OP wants things catered to his beliefs whether it’s being allowed to pray in public places, being served halal food, right to protest etc etc but is always annoyed when any other group does the same.

Agreed. I am non vegan but I can still see from where the passenger is coming from. A decent vegan meal shoud not be an issue.

Its a matter of personal beliefs and preference. If you claim to be a Muslim, respecting other people is part of huqooq ul ibad which are more important than huqooq ul Allah. Imagine if someone thumbed their nose at you for asking for halal or zabeeha food.
