VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad) demands apology from CIA over ‘militant’ tag, threatens global protests

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Friday demanded an apology from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for classifying it along with Bajrang Dal as “militant religious outfits” and threatened global protests if the tag is not removed.

In a statement, the VHP called the classification in the CIA’s World Factbook “objectionable”, “disrespectful” and “non-factual”.

It said the CIA, which was responsible for the creation of Osama Bin Laden, had no rights to comment on the saffron outfit that worked for India’s welfare.


VHP leader Surendra Jain said there were “vested interests” behind the move and the CIA’s “anti-India mindset” could be seen from the fact that some parts of Jammu and Kashmir were shown in Pakistan in the maps used in the Factbook.

He urged the Indian government to take up the matter with the US government to pressurise the CIA to “rectify the errors” in the Factbook.

They are quite a well known militant Hindutva organisation similar to Bajrang Dal. You won't hear much about them because Hindu supremacist movements only really affect minorities in India so of little interest to those who live in the west.

This is like the Muslims who are apologists for Al Muhajiroun and Anjem Choudhary, neither of whom have ever been explicitly involved in violence or terrorism. Hello and welcome, VHP supporters. :44:
 
Protest all you want the CIA will never apologise. Non Hindu's will certainly not be supporting any Hindu protest in the west where Hindu's are a major minority. Such a protest should be restricted to India where a few RSS goons may take the trouble to come out.

Sorry I missed that . Yes they were responsible for the demolition of the Masjid but that is hardly an offense that requires them to be Branded as a Militant Organization considering the background of how that Masjid was built and that it is now 25+ yrs since that event.

Hardly an offense if you’re a supporter of a militant organization.

And any excuse to justify their militancy is as to how the mosque was built or how the ISLAM was spread in sub-continent does not negate fact that RSS is a militancy.

Sure so lets start by applying the rules equally and fairly across the board - Shall we then classify Islam accordingly as a militant ideology ?
