That was a brutal question when 1 of the 5 mentors was sitting right in front of him. But the question is fair. What exactly are these mentor doing and what is their responsibility????

Mohammad Hafeez, while speaking on a local media outlet show:

"Since Malik is in a mentorship role, there are five mentors working for Pakistan. How much responsibility and authority have you been given?"

"I’m asking some hard questions from him. What I’m saying is that these five people are big names. They should be properly utilized and given the authority to bring change in Pakistan cricket. Some of these same people were against the Strike Force and said it shouldn’t happen. But the response came, ‘No, this will happen.’ First-Class cricket was sidelined to prepare the Strike Force."

in reply Shoaib Malik on same show:

"This has been a topic of discussion for a while. If you remember, I had said on our show from the beginning that people should be empowered and that there should be alignment from the grassroots level to the top. All stakeholders need to be on the same page. There have been meetings about this, but of course, he got busy with many teams coming in. And under him, it's not just about the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman’s responsibilities—there are other major responsibilities as well. Right now, our focus should be on making sure the ICC Champions Trophy is hosted successfully in Pakistan, which is a huge achievement after 29–30 years. If that happens smoothly, I’m sure things will get better for Pakistan cricket as well, InshaAllah."

Savage question and he's right.

Let's be honest, it was just hush money and these guys have no real responsibility.

These mentors should also be questioned as to why their respective teams have been unable to transform the game according to modern days standards and where are the players groomed?? If there is any

Waqar got asked same question too in dressing room. But to be honest you can't really blame mentors. They don't have magic wand to create world beaters in one tournament. They are there to create a pipeline. They do not have selection authority of national team. They didn't choose captain, coach, strategy, team, etc.
