Just saw his first over and this guy is definitely pacy , quiet tall and gets good bounce , He definitely out bowling Rahat in terms of pace and bounce , haven't see any lateral movement from so far but the raw ingredients are all there.

Definitely one to look in future.
 
So by Pakistani age 20-21 means 24-25 in real. Doesn't have much time to establish then.
 
Yea he is quiet accurate and seems to be able to bowl on the exact corridor quiet often , looks more of a Windies bowler considering his height and bowling action which is a mixture of Dillon and Ambrose.

All our bowlers seem to have the right ingredients to start with, we just get the recipe wrong

Seems to be quite pace and accurate hope selectors are looking at him

Pretty good bowler in my opinion decent pace and bounce and quiet tall as well (very much like WIs fast bowlers like Dillon ,Cuffy , Taylor etc) , just need to learn how to move the ball.

Saw a YT video of him today definitely looks pacy.

Can he swing the ball?
 
Junaid Khan must make way for 22 years old Waqar Younis's neighbour (region-wise) Ahmed Bashir

He is Fast medium at present.


Ahmed Bashir & Atif Jabbar should replace Wahab & Junaid in One Day team.


Ahmed Bashir doesn't need to rott further in bizarre terrible domestic setup.

What about Zia ul Haq and Ehsan Adil?
 
We are in need of a tall, quick bowler who can hit the deck hard and extract bounce from a good length in ODIs on these flat tracks as these white Kookaburras don't swing.

Bashir is from Waqar's old patch in Vehari and some say he fits that bill. He should be closely monitored.

Most importantly he should be picked ahead of Azizullah's etc for tournaments like Pakistan Cup.
 
There was an Ahmed Bashir that played for Lahore in the Champions league and his action was similar to Fazle Akbar. If he is still the same pace then that's not going to be an improvement on Wahab, JK, Rahat, Anwar Ali etc.

Ahmed Bashir does not have action like Fazl e Akbar.


One thing more. Fazl e Akbar was given very few oppurtunities, mostly on dead surfaces and mainly when he was on decline. Same was the case with Aizaz Cheema & Tanveer. You need to pick pacers early like Imran, Wasim, Waqar, Aqib, Zahid, Shoaib, Razaq, Asif, Amir all got picked at Young ages.


Guys like Rana Naveed & Fazl e Akbar, Abdur Rauf, Yasir Arafat etc got picked too late when they had grinded years and years on Pak domestic flat dead surfaces.


Watch Ahmed Bashir's action on Youtube . Zero similarity with Fazl e Akbar. Ahmed has repeatable action, is atheletic 6 plus and gets decent bounce. He is FM capable of becoming Fast within 6 months to one year with right diet & exercise.


Ahmed Bashir & Atif Jabbar not getting picked for Pskistan Cup ? While Azizullah's etc getting picked in draft system ? Heads needs to roll but nothing would happen.


15 averaging Sahibzada got picked based on Eye of Fakhar, Abdur Rahman & Wajahatullah mainly because of his Fc season consistentcy aswell as last 5 years club cricket and grade 2 performances and look at his PC numbers. Stats aren't everything.
 
It was pathetic from the management to not play him in the U-23 Asia cup. Bashir is ready as he'll ever be. Time to bring him in. Inzi you chump, do something right for once.

Multan should pick him up for PSL.

Nice Easy Rhythmical Runup. Repeatable fluent action with excellent mechanics. Presents the seam, is fairly accurate wrt Line & Length and bowls between 133-142 kph.


With Right training & sports nutrition he can gain 5-7 kph and become Right Arm Fast.



Hope we see him play televised domestic T20 matches in few months time. Draft pathetic system should end.

do u think he has any chance to be selected in psl for multan..irfanullah shah has gone to pz....this time sameen gul guy has to find right team...the only way we can seee some youngsters ..

Picked up 7/53 today for KRL against a strong SSGC lineup. Wickets included Sami Aslam, Babar Azam, Umar Amin and Fawad Alam.
 
WOW. I'm seeing alot of great things about this guy. Clearly a player to keep an eye out for, hopefully could be in the Pakistan very soon

Whenever he has been given a chance, he has done very well in this year's QeA.

Has played 4 matches, bowled in 6 innings, and taken 20 wickets at an average of 14.05 and ER of 2.79. SR of 30.2.

Makes it all the more sad he wasn't selected for the National T20 Cup/PSL.
 
Just 22 years of age...one to look out for

Can easily replace Juni and provide a stiff competition for Raees
 
He's at an age where working with Azhar Mahmood will seriously improve. He has some good numbers in his 4 games played.
 
The problem Pakistan has that there are lack of proper academies.

There should be fast bowlers academy where fast bowlers from the U-19's upto to the 25 year olds should be worked upon by professional fast bowling coaches.

Just having one NCA won't make much of a difference as there needs to be a culture for this.
 
He should have been picked by Multan in PSL.


Waqar needs to have a look at him. I am sure he would be impressed.



Why Ahmed hasn't played a single List A match for KRL this season ? Is he injured ?

My bad. 1 match only is not what he deserves.


Shan & Shehzad are scoring heaps of runs in domestic especially shehzad who has been prolific in all 3 formats lately. Sports psychologist clicked because even in domestic he was struggling alot and his confidence level was rock bottom.


Shan is not a T20 player. (Too limited wrt skill of shot making)


Yes he scored runs in T20 cup but this pick my multan is due to " Pawaa " & physical fitness.

He played today. Took 3 wickets but went for 83 runs in his 10 overs.

Quite expensive considering that the total was just 270.

He needs to play more regularly.

A good end to the tournament for him.

He had figures of 3-45 while Sadaf had 4-56 vs strong UBL batting line up who did not lose any of their matches uptil now.

He is not getting consistent chances currently which is very unfortunate. Furthermore he is not under the wings of NCA which is a big miss.


HE does move the ball away from RHB but not appreciably. He is more of a sealed than a swing bowler but a good prospect. He has the capacity to gain pace provided he gets good mentoring which he is lacking at present.

By the way i am not impressed with some of ur choices which u hyped a bit specially Ghulam mudassir and irfan jnr??? Why came out to be so ordinary??

Both have a long career ahead of them.

They need the right coaching and guidance though. Will they get it? I don't know...
 
Automatic third seamer to partner Hasan and Amir. Inzi, get your head right. He's not even in the country watching this tournament.
 
Surprised how he's not considered for Pakistan at all when the pace attack in NZ is really thin. Rumman, Amir and Hasan are not enough especially since there our only out and out pace bowlers. Faheem and Amir are allrounders who won't bowl as much as the pacer. Ahmed Bashir should have definitely be considered. Somehow Inzi brings in some decent youngsters and sometimes he forgets that there's plenty of other talented youngsters performing.
 
Bowled a decent spell on a dead pitch. Definitely better than Rumman and co.

Figures look good from the scorecard.I saw his first over,he was going wide of the crease and action was not thet fluent..i think he need to work on that ?

He's not going to learn anymore at domestic level. Bring him in to the national set up, especially as we need another right arm option.

Figures do not do justice to his showing today.

He was brilliant today.

He is somebody who runs in and gives it his all.

Amongst pacers under 24 in this tournament Ahmed has been the fastest bowler on show. Thrice he beat Saad Ali for pace.

Hope he makes highlights in National T20 Cup.
 
Keeps hitting that yorker length superbly. Should have been in the A teams and T20 squad vs NZ instead of 31 year old Waqas Maqsood.
