A drunk Vadodara brat rammed a speeding Volkswagen into a two wheeler and ran over several others on Holi eve. One woman succumbed to injuries on the spot.​


Vadodara: A horrific incident has surfaced from Vadodara where a drunk youth, who was allegedly behind the wheels of a speeding car, rammed into a two wheeler and ran over several others. A woman who was on a scooty hit by the car died on the spot while four others were injured in the accident which took place in Karelibagh area on Holi eve.

The heart wrenching incident which was caught on camera showed the speeding Volkswagen hitting a two wheeler, dragging the riders on the ground, leaving a woman dead and many more injured.

As per the bystanders and locals who witnessed the incident, the accused behind the wheels was found to be in a drunk state. The accused identified as Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia has been arrested.

Drunk accused shouted ‘Another Round, Nikita, Om Namah Shivay’ after ramming the car

Another video from the accident site has surfaced showing the accused getting out of the vehicle and shouting, "Another Round, Another Another 5 times… Nikita… Om Namah Shivay…,” as he appeared completely sloshed and not realising the havoc he created. The crowd held the accused and handed him over to the police.

There was another youth in the car who was accompanying the accused. After the incident, he was the one who first got down from the vehicle and heard telling the bystanders “…Mera kuch nahi hai… woh chala raha tha car” (I'm not involved in this, he (Rakshit) was driving the car).

Accused is a law student, was riding his friend's car

Speaking on this horrific incident, Vadodara MP Hemang Joshi said, “We received the news of an accident near Amrapali Apartment, Karelibaugh. After reaching the spot, we learnt that over four have been injured while one lost life on the spot. It is a tragic accident. While speaking to the witnesses we got to know that the driver seemed to be drunk. We have asked the police to investigate this hit and run and check if it is a case of drunk driving.”

Panna Momaya, Zone 4 DCP Vadodara said, “The car was coming from Sangam to Muktanand circle. It was an over speeding car. One woman died on the spot while four others were injured. Rakshit Chaurasia (accused) is the student of Law Faculty, MSU. He was accompanied by Meet Pranshu Chauhan who is the student of Parul University. Rakshit Chorasia is basically from Varanasi. He was riding Meet's car. We are further investigating the over speeding angle.”

“Yesterday's horrific hit and run in Karelibaugh is a case of over speeding. The accused was arrested from the spot. Different teams have been formed to investigate the same. The FSL team has collected necessary samples from the site. Blood samples have also been collected. We are also going to analyse the whereabouts of the accused and his friend of the entire day. Drunk driving angle will also be probed. FIR against the accused has been filed under section 105 of BNS,” DCP Panna Momaya added.

Some bystanders and eyewitnesses who witnessed the entire incident held the accused who was allegedly behind the wheels and were heard saying, “tear his clothes. Do not spare him.” While a few others said hand him over to the police.

The man chanted 'Om Namah Shivay'. One can only imagine the reaction if a Muslim man had chanted 'Allahu Akbar' in the same place, the same channel would have labeled it a terrorist attack and sensationalized it endlessly.

Also, this happened in Gujarat, a state that claims to be alcohol-free. Now we know just how "alcohol-free" it really is. :inti
 
Spoke to a Gujrati lady doctor during a trip to Goa. She says alcohol is readily available in Gujarat any time of the year.
 
I don't even want to say anything about this particular incident because it's just one among dozens. I'm just sick to death of these type of incidents.​
