Improve fielding. That was the biggest blunder for Pakistan in this tour (multiple dropped catches).

Before the tour many said why is Jamal getting picked but it turns out he was great pick. The lesson is more unsung players from domestic cricket should be given a chance. Jamal has shown that you never know who will have the right mentality. Just give them a go. There might be more like him.

The reasons for the loss of the Pakistan team in Australia by Rashid Latif's analysis.

1- Openers
2- Middle order and the lack of reliable
3- spinners in the team.

In test cricket in Australia, Pakistan team batting always have problems especially openers.

1- Openers
Runs Ave
Pakistan 237 19.44
Australia 462 46.2

Openers Runs Avg
Imam-ul-Haq 94 23.5
Abdullah Shafique 110 18.33
Saim Ayub 33 16.5
Total 237 19.44

After the openers got out, the middle order also failed, if they had given a good performance, they could have won a test match in the series. There were many expectations from Babar, Shan and Saud but they could not fulfill the expectations.

2- Middle Order
Runs Avg
3- Shan Masood 181 30.17
4- Babar Azam 126 21.00
5- Saud Shakeel 92 15.33
Total 399 22.16

3- Spinners

Spinners get a lot of bounce and turn on Australian pitches but the inexperience and lack of world-class spinners made it easy for the Australian batters to extend their innings.

Spin Wickets Ave
Pakistan 6 58.83
Australia 15 19.34

Bowlers Wickets Avg
Sajid Khan 3 40.67
Agha Salman 3 77.00
6 58.83

Analysis by Rashid Latif on social media, summary we have an average team with players having big weakness the supremacy of Australia was too much for us to get anything apart from Jamal's MOM

The most infuriating thing was how close we were to actually getting a result. Last tour it was not even a contest, 2 innings defeats.

But this time, we had done so much of the hard yards, set good platforms, bowled with consistency and patience and yet threw it away with dropped catches and ill-timed batting collapses. We had them on the ropes many times and walked away with nothing.

Will never forget some of those drops, especially Abdullah Shafique's. I don't want to see his face for another 6 months.

I think we did as well as we could have done given the fielding and unavailability of Abrar.

If we are serious about winning in Aus we need to come out MUCH earlier, and have our first eleven on the pitch and sharpen up our catching.

I actually think the same core of players can win the next series in Aus as this Aus team is on its last legs. It can not even score properly against this WI attack, so imagine if we had Naseem Shaheen Abrar Musa Jamal as the bowling line up. We could have made a mockery of them (Assuming no drop catches :)

Babar and Saud disappointed with the bat which I dont think would happen two series in a row.
