Who remembers the infamous England Vs Pakistan series back in 2005, when Kaneria was all over England with his magnificent Legspin bowling.

The way he would come into his run up by licking his fingers and then going in to bowl.

He almost got his hattack once. He got Kevin Peiterson out on a edge towards slip, bowled Flintoff with a googly, and then Gerraint Jones came, he miss read the googly, ball was plumb onto his pads, and the umpire Darrel Hair gave it not out.

It was a fairly plumb. You never know with Hair, he might have done that deliberately. However watching it live, I thought that the appeal wasn't strong enough for a hat trick ball and for such a close call.

Hair was the worst umpire in history and by many accounts a bad person. I'm glad we have DRS now, it's kept al ot of umpire's in check.

Any umpire can have a shocker. We have seen worse howlers than this from umpires supposedly better than Hair. Just because he is a certified racist doesn't mean that every wrong decision of his against an Asian team was down to his prejudice.
