This is what happens when you put all your eggs in the golden goose PSL basket and ignore the bread and butter of domestic cricket.

My high school in canada had a much better dressing room.

LCCA is a well known cricket ground

Im sure this was like this even before the PSL.

I agree that the PCB is relying too heavily on the PSL but the PCB has been ignoring domestic cricket from even before the PSL started.

Disgraceful. Mani should cull all these region heads who don't seem to give a damn.

Last season a QEA match had to be abandoned after excessive moisture in the circle so this ground has been in the spotlight before.

This is also why I'm not with those claiming Najam Sethi was the saviour of Pakistan cricket. I'm for the PSL which was a wonderful achievement but not at the expense of neglecting our FC infrastructure. Don't be surprised when we sink down the Test rankings when our FC cricket literally rots.

Imagine working your butt off to reach FC cricket and then seeing this.

No wonder players get up and quit.

That's filthy, can you imagine actually having to use those facilities? Mental

Quite true but when you are making millions from the PSL then at least some of that money should make it's way to domestic cricket.

It will require a huge amount of funds to upgrade stadiums. Just upgrading the Qadhaffi Stadium and National Stadium has cost the PCB a bomb. The PCB cannot single handedly fund each and every thing in Pakistan Cricket from the national team to domestic cricket, the private sector has to play its part just like every other country.

Let me see what Ehsan Mani does to upgrade the stadiums in such a short period of time.

Hopefully he concentrates on cricket related matters and not tapping phones.

It's this kind of nonsense why we need a solid administrator and not an old showman like Sethi. If we're to become a great test side, we need to treat our domestic first class culture like it's a test match player producing factory

Disgusting.

Good to see someone of Misbah's stature shining a light on this issue.

Surely, surely condition of dressing rooms suddenly didn't become like this over night and this guy had been playing domestic in every season for probably last 25 years - why this time?

I am sure, it wasn't for a PSL Pension scheme in the highest category, that in past PAK's longest serving Captain in last 50 years (at one go) didn't bother for it :)

The Conjuring director likes the video and wants to shoot next movie here.

The movie will be named "Ghost on the Cycle".

Terrible.

Even if it's not too fancy, the facilities on a ground need to be maintained. Misbah did well by bringing this to light.

Good point. Why didnt he raise this point earlier during his playing days?

Those who have lived in Pakistan know conditions didn't become like this overnight.
Misbah was a yes man and hardly raised his voice on issues during his playing days hence he got the long run.. The guy was the most powerful captain in Pakistan in near past and there was a reason why Mickey when asked who is the God father of Pak cricket and he replied Misbah. Anyways appreciate him for raisin his voice now.

why, so bash the messenger for bringing this to light

Absolutely disgusting. Even most club cricket dressing rooms are better than this

I believe Misbah is doing this now because he thinks with Imran Khan at helm things might actually change now for good. I’ll say he did the right thing. He blew whistle of PCB’s incompetency which should be ecourged.

Also this exposes ex chairman and his fangirls who claimed Sethi did a fantastic job.

This is a bit unfortunate from a professional point of view.

There many aspects in every department which does suck. But you shouldn't go to Twitter ranting about it. A sincere professional will write a letter to authority and then request for proper rectification. This is a poor way to handle things.

Right intention,
execution is very unprofessional in my opinion.

I believe Misbah must have highlighted these issues many times to the PCB, the PCB's hands are also tied, its not like they have an unlimited budget to spend on upgrading each and every stadium in Pakistan, it also cost the PCB a bomb to upgrade the Qadhaffi Stadium and National Stadium and it will require a huge influx for them to spend on the other stadiums

The problems are the regional cricketing bodies as it is their responsibility to raise their own funds and to look after their own stadiums rather than going to the PCB with a begging bowl.

Also, remember one thing, Misbah was a centrally contracted player. Thus, he couldn't just make videos and post them back then.

Who knows, he probably did forward his complain to chairman.

Thing is, you could cry about the past or fix the future.
Savak , funds are often released, but its up to the regions how to use them.

This is the easiest corruption, where you dont use money on facilities and use them up themselves.

I also deem it very unprofessional imagine if he was the PCB Chairman lol.

the haters are still the same.

Bash him for not posting videos earlier( who knows, could had been writing letters to the chairman when he was centrally contracted)

Bash him for posting videos afterwards because its unprofessional.

An international great?! That's just an insult and great disservice you did there to all the greats of the game who earned that tag. I'm sorry but only in your dreams was he an international great.

You conveniently ignored Misbah's PSL stats. If you had it in you, you would at least acknowledge his performances weren't good enough for PSL standards.

read the thread title, look at the topic of discussion.

We've been through that as we discussed in earlier posts. The discussion has now progressed but you've once again played dodge ball like Misbah's dodgy defensive captaincy :misbah

You mean derailed. ::J

Can we stick to the topic, which is poor facilities in domestic cricket? No dearth of threads that are discussing his lack of PSL performances, etc.

why, so bash the messenger for bringing this to light

Because he deserves that, where was he all those years, enjoying free trips with family to Australia, New Zealand and Caribbeans and never saw this before.

and what if he did write a letter to the PCB.

making an argument out of nothing just shows the hate, nothing else.

Read above. Stick to the topic please.

:)))

I will admit to having a laugh at this.

On topic, it seems there are too many who are interested in playing the man, rather than the ball. The issue Misbah is raising is a valid one, and the fact someone with his profile is raising it mean people will sit up and listen.

Some seem to be criticising Misbah for (allegedly) not raising the matter before, but the fact is he is raising it now (which is a lot more than can be said about some...)

The funny thing is that not a single current player who they support or past players they support (Afridi) raised the point in their career either, so it's obviously just a shot at Misbah for no reason

Its funny Misbah never took a dig at these facilities when he representing Pakistan. I didnt like him shaming our set up. Should have just shared it with cricket authorities.

PCB is trigger-happy with its contracted players.

He'd have ten show-cause notices for doing something like this. It's one of the reasons these players shy away from making controversial statements even if it's for the betterment of Pakistan's cricket.

He has numerous times mentioned about the quality of pitches and grounds. There are videos available too.

To be fair to Misbah he has brought up such issues with the PCB hierarchy and has by and large been ignored.

Perhaps by putting this video out there, something may actually be done about it this time.

Do they realize that these are just small grounds and not huge stadiums? You wouldn't expect anything better tbh

Get on with the cricket. This is what all the players put up with for a 100 off years. Never complained. Never cried about it on twitter, oh thanks there was no social media back in the day and people acted like grown ups rather than throwing tantrums. The great Haneef Muhammad, Miandad, Akram, Inzi they all came out from this system and became world champions.

Pakistani cricketers are humiliating their own nation on social media. It is pathetic,

Reminds me of Yoni crying about it a while ago saying is this where you expect Younis Khan to play? Addressing himself in 3rd person.

Yes it looks bad. It looks filthy. But your job is to perform. Stick to it let media and commentators bring up such issues.

Point is that they are being used for Pakistan's top-tier cricket

The location of the ground is questionable too. I live just a few steps away from there. There's a high-quality private school adjacent to the stadium and there's rush hour at afternoon during which matches are in progress and could harm people if the ball goes out of the ground and also it is a residential area.

We need these issues highlighted bro- If we dont then nothing will improve.

There's not much room for improvement but they could renovate it and I don't know how long does it take. Why not move Lahore matches to Bagh-e-Jinnah or Aitchison College? I heard LUMS has a cricket ground too
