Pakistan made a couple of critical mistakes in selecting the first XI for the 1st Test.

Faheem Ashraf and Sarfraz were terrible selections

Allowed Australia to absolutely crush y'all by 360 runs and gained huge momentum.

Should have played 4 quicks in the last Test as well imo . PAK spinners are absolute garbage.

Then, they probably need to learn this from age group cricket

The batting and fast bowling were not the greatest but they they were at least international standard.

Records are meant to be broken. Pakistan will definitely win a test match in Australia one day in future.

This tour it was more of a mental gap than skill. Sure Australia were superior team but Pakistan was as much in the game in the last two Tests.

They just collapsed like a house of cards. One hundred run partnership or a hundred was all needed from the top or middle order in either Test to win it.

Not winning is one thing, but losing every single match in every tour is just too much. It's not too hard to draw on test out of 15-20 tests in Aus by batting big. problem I see is that no batsman is capable of playing long inning in testing conditions. 40-60 runs, players and fans go gaga over it. Start talking about average being good and so on. Just make big daddy tons and you can draw if not win.

Pakistan is a team that relies onf Flash of brilliance. Australia is the least vulnerable to flash of brilliance historically. They always find a way to come back int to the game.

It doesn't look likely that Pakistan will beat Australia in Australia in a test series any time soon. I don't think many players in Pakistan prioritize test cricket since they don't develop the skills that are necessary to be a great player in test cricket.

They got smashed last time. But, they historically do well in Australia. Won series in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

Pitches in Australia suit South Africa. They face almost similar surfaces back home. That's what I was referring to.

Anyway, Australia are likely to smoke both South Africa and India at home now (in Tests).

Impossible unless Pakistan prepares a few fast bouncy tracks where they develop batsmen with good backfoot game. Pakistan competed there in late 70s or 80s when they had batsmen who played a lot of county cricket.

Bear in mind apart from Australia, Pakistan has a good record in England, New Zealand and it is better than India's.

On this tour to Australia, Pakistan in two test matches ie Melbourne and Sydney showed that they were close to turning the tide in Australia.

If Pakistan does the following below, I am certain they can emerge victorious in Australia finally

- Ensure the team which tours Australia has atleast two months off with no Cricket

- Flies down to Australia and holds their training camp and 3-4 practice games atleast 6 weeks prior to the start of the test series in Perth

- Develop two reliable pace bowling allrounders with plenty of experience

- Develop two proper full time spinners with plenty of wickets under their belt and experience

- Ensure 3-4 selected bowlers are atleast 140 km/hr plus with capacity to bowl 20-25 overs a day.

- Select batters with excellent back foot games and with good ability to play the cut, pull and hook.

More than pitch that south africa team was one the best side around the world ,who were beat Australia in Australia. This South Africa team dont have any chance to win away from home so forget a win in Australia .
Nah india is not going to be smoked by Australia this time around either.

Came very close in 2 tests. Imagine some or all of below points and result could have been otherwise in at least one test:
1. Selecting rizwan from first test.
2. Nasim and abrar being fit and playing all 3 tests
3. Shaheen playing all 3 tests
4. Backup pacers being fit ihsanullah hasnain etc or even Haris Rauf. (They all would have likely done better than Hasan Ali)
5. Not dropping so many easy catches
6. Some of the umpires call outs being given by Gough in favor
7. Australia missing one or two of key bowlers in atleast 1 test. They had full strength attack in all 3 as opposed on many of our past tours and even other teams tours.
8. Selecting Karman ghulam as backup to Saud and playing g him in 1 or 2 tests
9. Getting more practice games in to get used to conditions

Pakistan team or fan are not even think they can win a series in Australia . first change that mentality and have self-confidence .MCG test was winnable for Pakistan if they had self belive .
