It seems like they just come out for training sessions just for the heck of it. I see a lot of them just giggling and standing around with hands in their pockets.

Why aren't the coaches on top of them? Look at the difference between how Indian and Australian cricket teams train. Their is intensity and purpose visible in their training sessions.

No wonder our cricket culture is rotten. This is where we need to start. Coaches need to be on top of the players and give them clear guidelines of what is expected of them and what area they are targeting in their preparation.

It does not mean that they lack discipline or intensity. May be they have a break from their drill so they are just laughing and standing around to have a breather.

This has always been 'the Pakistan way' ever since I started covering games.

Not a new phenomena.

Its like they are attending a friends meetup.

If our boys really want to improve their games they need to take these practice sessions very seriously and management must also emphasize that all players must take part in it and give their 100%.

i dont disagree with you completely, but its the equivalent of last minute cramming, if you have prepared properly you reduce the intensity of your preparation in the run up to the exam.

a hard training session wont fix the fundamental weaknesses with this cricket team, a week or twos work doesnt sort out years of bad habits.

its why i think these training camps are a low cost excuse for preparation, when you could have as easily gone to aus a week or two earlier and fitted in one or two more 3 day games.

Well this is the price you pay when you include guys like Hassan Ali in your training sessions.

He won’t allow any kind of seriousness to settle in the sessions

If anyone believes that these training camps make any difference then they have little understanding of cricket. I remember someone saying that the fielding has gone bad after Steve Rixon was sacked, as if these little kids forget how to field because the coach changed.

It's just a portion captured in camera. Also, I don't think that 2 days before the game is going to do too much.

I guess they are feeling the cold in chilly weather of Lahore. They all are wearing jumpers during their practice even the fast bowlers.

Cannot see the fire and intensity here. This practice sessions is lacking interest I guess.
It's cold.
Unless the people in charge of the training camp know what their goal for the camp is and how they structure it, you can't really blame players to be casually practicing especially when half of the squad is playing a test in Australia.
