wow That was an unplayable ball.

Abdullah719 I sincerely hope selectors watched Irfan (legspinner) bowl. His dismissal of Umar Akmal today merits its own thread. :virat

I saw last year he was spinning alot but with little control, i saw earlier in the week, very little spin but more control.

He is batting right now and taking Abdur rehman apart.

Didnt know he is such a hitter.

Excellent spinner, big hitter. Get this guy in!

I thought UA would make a comeback to save Pakistan cricket:yk2

Looks like Umar Akmal has been drinking a lot of water

It was a fluke turn to get Umar akmal out. Now he will tell grandchildren how he got Pakistani Kohli :uakmal OUT

Look at his haters grasping at this dismissal .
He made 39 of 23 prior to that ball and has done extremely well this season.

Must be sad being a hater and venting on a forum lol.

You don’t seem to have a grasp on obesity.

He does not in anyway look obese.

The comment was hyperbolic.

What is obvious is that he has gained even more weight and his physique is now headed the Sharjeel way, which isn't really something to aim for. He used to be quite slim a few years back.

According to reports by ESPN after the fitness test he failed last year - he's 91kg. When you calculate BMI he would be classed as obese and his fat level reading is 115.9 when anything above 100 is considered high.

Oops, didn't take facts into consideration :broad

A year ago he was 91kg. He’s evidently lost weight. So that’s a silly argument.

Also BMI was formulated by mathematicians not health care professionals. It takes into account mass as a whole and does not look at lean body mass or anything else.

Take body builders for example. They be sat at say 120-130kg at 6’2. Are they obese? No becasue the excess mass is all muscle and are all less then 6% body fat.

He is overweight still yes I’d agree. Not obese. I’ve seen obese people he’s not one of them. He needs to drop a further 10kg and he’d be healthy and at a lower body fat again.

Is umar akmal aspiring to be a sumo wrestler now?

This was back in 2009-2010. Close to a decade ago.

He is a cricketer. 10 years ago, Kohli was chubby. Now look at him.

Improvement should be the aim, not whatever Umar Akmal is doing. Applies to his batting too.

I agree with you. He let himself go. I can not defend him in that regard no one can. Positive put ofnit he’s clearly dropping weight and watching his diet and has put on some muscle mass. Which is key for his small size.

Bamboozled.

Superb delivery, but where was Umar's footwork to smother the spin.

Saj, why is Irfan not being selected for the A team/national squad? He has been topping the charts recently...

Good question.

I've mentioned him to Mickey again. Let's see.

How many times have we seen Akmal get out this way where his feet go nowhere and he hangs back and plays lazily around a rather full delivery? The delivery was made to look better than it was.

Does Umar Akmal look like a body builder to you? He's obese.

Anyway, good delivery, but dreadful attempt at whatever Umar Akmal was trying.

You need to be a body builder to put on muscle not is bodybuilding the only way to put on muscle.
