Amazing debut for Peshawar Zalmi and a match winning performance at that.

that leg cutter was beautiful, imagine that was a fluke and hit a divot in the pitch tho, otherwise that's a crazy amount of grip and turn.

I liked his second wicket today.

A fast leg break type delivery - good skills and control.

That was a legit off cutter not a subtle movement, that too with speed . how does he do it?

I liked what I saw last year and was very surprised that he didn't play QA trophy this season. I see him more as test prospect.

Indian type bowler. Would not fit in with pakistani mindset. Goodluck anyways.

Umar has bowled the ball of the tournament world class delivery which is hard to control.

Venkatesh Prasad was a very handy white ball bowler. Batters nowadays are well equipped to face pace. They paddle sweep, reverse sweep, helicopter flick and what not.

I would say good luck to them playing these shots to a fast leg cutter that pitches on middle stump and hits top on top of off stump.

This guy is one of the better karachi bowlers young prospect his skills are better than hasnain .

It's a Shame the sindh team don't play him in qea due to seniors like sohail and tabish hogging spots.

He's got good height as well which is always a plus.

Asif wasn't super quick, but that's the kind of skill he had.

Pakistan has rushed a few of their quickest young bowlers in lately with Hasnain & Naseem Shah. Mightn't be a bad idea to look for a skillful one instead as a backup/replacement for the Hasan Ali role.

Impressive bowling by the young man again.

Lovely bowler.. Hassan Ali type action and line length and swing, but looks much taller than hassan

Tough gig bowling to Rizwan and Shan, but the lad has done well today.

Wicket to wicket, steady pace, subtle varieties.

Doing well.

It's hard to hit a pacer compared to an open chest bowler who (a) because of open chest can not get inswing (b) because of lack of express pace can not hurry batsmen. I said good luck to this young man but I know these types of bowlers do not get selected for Pakistan. Hassan Ali is a prime example. Goes in and out and is a gamble in not so suitable conditions. And Hassan is like armed with arsenal of tricks like swing, seam, slow ball etc still can't cement his place in the squad

I think Hassan Ali is currently Pakistan’s first choice bowler along with Shaheen in all 3 format, is he not?

Muhammad Umar is actually a very different bowler compared to Hassan Ali anyway. I think he is taller and also relies more on back of length which means that he doesnt need to be express.

No Hassan is not the first choice by default. He performed poorly in WC21, is getting hit worst in PSL7. He is suitable for Tests because as red ball gets old, he starts bringing it in and that becomes a challenge for batsmen in a format where no one wants to hit every bowl for a boundary. So that is the format where he averages 21. In LOI, he went through same phase of not performing well post CT17 for the very same reasons. And this is someone with, like I said, an arsenal of trickery up his sleeve. Imagine an open chest medium-fast bowler with no significant movement. I hope umar performs but I am not very hopeful.

Mohammad Umar speaking his side's performances etc

Umar given a continued run being the Emerging Pick for Zalmi. So far raw material to work with certainly.

4 wickets so far in 5 matches.

Economy rate of 8.31

Steady rather than spectacular at the moment in PSL7.

seems like he would be a good red ball bowler. Has a steady pace and good seam presentation.

In a losing cause in the 2nd semi-final but Muhammad Umar takes 3-54 (Pakistan Cup)
