A top bowling performance by Mohammad Asif saw Australia collapse to 127 all out on Sydney three years ago today. Unfortunately, the events that transpired over the next three days would result in a 34-run loss to Pakistan.

Nevertheless, a fantastic display of bowling by disgraced fast bowler Mohammad Asif who finished with figures of 6/41

Here are his wickets:

4-36 (Clarke, 17.2 ov),
5-51 (Hussey, 21.5 ov),
6-51 (North, 21.6 ov),
7-62 (Haddin, 25.1 ov),
8-106 (Hauritz, 37.4 ov),
9-117 (Johnson, 39.5 ov)

Such reads made me sad. Great bowling but when I think about his fixing at same time, it makes me sad.

Top spell from Asif but unfortunately was all in vein, one of the worst finishes for a Pakistan match ever!

Here's a chilling stat - 3 players in that eleven are currently banned for cheating and Amir was not even playing. 4 members of that squad were cheaters.

I know Asif was a magician but lets not get too hung up on him or in fact any of the other cheats. What was the end result of that magic spell in Sydney? The most hurtful loss imaginable. No doubt that both Amir and Asif were genius bowlers but our results were pathetic. Out of the spot fixing scandal, Misbah was made captain from the complete wilderness and now we have a team achieving things only imaginable when the cheats were in the team. In the long term, removing the cancer that was Salman Butt as captain has benefited us a great deal. Misbah is the shining star that has come out of all of this as one of Pakistan's very best captains ever and one of the very best batsman in the world. The spot fixing scandal has helped cleanse our cricket and whilst we have lost some amazing talent, we are a much, much better team.

Even though we won that test i have never watched it again and don't remember it fondly.

That match was lost thanks to Kamran and Yousaf who was an utter disgrace for a so called experienced player

funnily enough this test match might be going the same direction .On the 3 year anniversary will history repeat itself?

The credit fpr the collapse goes to M. Sami for the hostile first over.

Even sami bowled well. Wow what a waste of talent

ya asif was treat to watch but i will thousand times prefer an honest player no matter how mediocre but bowling his heart out for his country and team on a cheat like asif
i don't want any convicted cheat player like asif ever to represent my nation
betraying the nation is a criminal offense almost equal to treason
its shocking to see fans still support asif

bye asif
good cameo but your services now are no longer required for our country
players today might be mediocre but at least they are clean
go n try your luck bowling in some gulli mohallah team (though i think your disgraceful entry should even be banned there)

I can't watch this..

First we lost an opportunity to win a test match in aus .. I don't know if we are going to get that opportunity again ever.. Thanks to fixers like kamran akmal and salman butt

Second, Mohammad asif... Such a great bowler this guy was.. What a waste of talent...

Third aus tours r always depressing.. We always lose.. Always give away matches that we've supposed to win in aus..

Very sad to see a cheat who sold out his country and was always a distraction whether it was his chars habit or you name it is being celebrated. As long as we continue to respect cheats corruption will always be the norm in the SC.

Bowled like he had the ball on a string.

Amazing skills.

Pity about the rest - the Test, his career and those he affected.

Just appreciate the bowling for once.

Put everything aside and watch his some of his spells on youtube and enjoy world class bowling.

Asif on a purely cricketing level, is the most intelligent medium/fast bowler Pakistan have ever produced and certainly the best in the world at the time.

The way he set up Clarke was the stuff of legends . Sad end to the test , it made me feel sick to the stomach .

Beautiful bowling from a magician with the ball.

If only he had been more disciplined.

This test match showcased Kamran Akmal at his best. Anytime he comes on media and moans about not being selected, should play the various chances he dropped in that game and the fixer run out ‘missed’ chance.

Actually should play a collage of all the catches he has dropped in his career and see what he says.

Asif took the wickets but Sami was phenomenal with the new ball on a green-top. He was swinging the ball square at 90+.

I have a tiny soft spot for Kamran but I cannot justify how he missed that run out. Yes you can drop catches, but it is very clear that the didn’t dislodge the bails on purpose.

Surprising that kamran akmal wasn't under scanner after that performance..its crystal clear

Sami is a greater missed talent than Umar Akmal in my opinion.

Young, fit, smooth action, bowling 95mph at times, swinging the ball. He literally had everything, I don’t know where it went so wrong.

Sami and Asif really could have continued the legacy of waqar and wasim but neither of them really lived up to their potential. Such a shame.

One of the worst Test matches in living memory for a Pakistani cricket fan. This match still haunts me.

That ball to Clarke. Shaped away and then came back after pitching to hit middle. Insane skill.

On seaming pitches, Asif was a nightmare to face. Much like philander/abbas . Excellent bowlers who consistently hit the seam on a good line/length .

There is still time. Kamran Akmal should be permanently banned and humiliated for the damage he has done to Pakistan cricket over the years. As if his unbelievably terrible record of 20s batting average for HUNDREDS of international games plus countless dropped catches was not enough, he was so obviously involved in fixing for example not removing the bails during this test match that it boggles the mind why he continues to play domestic and PSL.

Every time I watch Asif’s bowling - my heart cries.

What a wonderful bowler he could’ve been...

Man such a big loss.

It was an amazing Test.

Pakistan were in a great position to win it but Aussies pulled it off.
