Now Shan Masood has to be kicked out ASAP - he's the most useless cricketer in the PAK team but also the most powerful sadly. Speak English, becomes undroppable.

Sami is one option to replace Shan Masood.

He is such a joy to watch. I saw how genuinely cheerful he was when he was handed that Test cap and was hoping he would get some runs. So pleasing to see him do well MashaAllah. A fluent and positive opener who is strong both square of the wicket and down the ground.

Solid, knows his strengths, good square of the wicket, but not sure about his technique against the short ball which needs working on.

I actually don’t think he has an issue against the short stuff. The key for him will be being judicious outside the off stump early in his innings.

Also, even if he becomes our Warner (Home Track Bully), that would be great for us. He doesn't have to become a Kohli or Ponting.

Pakistan’s batting is 5 guys in their thirties plus Babar Azam.

One - Abid Ali - is fine.
One - Azhar Ali - is a rubbish has-been who should not be in the team.
One - Haris Sohail - is a lazy, unfit disgrace.
One - Shan Masood - is mediocre but still vastly better all year than Azhar or Haris.
One - Asad Shafiq - is what he always was - inconsistent but gifted, unreliable.

The precondition for selecting a batsman as old as Abid Ali should be that you have to drop at least two of the other batsmen over 30.

Then you have to drop Azhar and Haris to fit him in!

Otherwise you have the mad situation in which guys aged 24 aren’t even in the squad because guys over 30 and averaging pathetic levels this last year are taking up all the positions.

A good start, I guess tougher tests lie ahead.

He's a player who knows what his strengths are and doesn't try to be something he isn't.
