He just scored 100 from 50 balls with 10 sixes in Ranji match. Someone to keep an eye on. His first class SR and average is touching 100 mark.

The only problem with domestic stats is that its completely unreliable for most part.

Yuvi is bossing around domestic tests even now.

But heard lots of good things about this Pant guy so I would love to see him make the Indian side. Heard he is a star in the making.

Rishabh Pant - The next big thing from India?

Rishabh Pant has been batting beyond all imaginations and smashing all types of records in Ranji Trophy

With a FC average touching 100 and SR already well above 100, we have got the next Bradman in making

His scores in Ranji - 146(124), 308(326), 24(20), 9(8), 60(56), 117(106), 135(66)* batting

Someone to keep eye on. And with Rishabh Pant being a wicket keeper too, we have finally found someone who can replace MS Dhoni who will most likely retire in 2017

He is a terrible keeper and not that great against proper pace ,atleast not yet.Hopefully he develops though.

Calling him as the next Bradman is OTT.

We have to push this guy in at least in T20's, bats at a very impressive SR too. Been a fan from U19 WC.

How many matches you have seen of him ?

Where do you see him struggling against proper pace ?

OP is bit OTT though .. our first class cricket standards are still not the greatest

All the U-19 games and the one against West Indian quicks, btw who are the proper pace bowlers in Indian domestic?

You must have jinxed him. Got out the very next ball. I would take Ishan Kishan. He can bat, keep and lead the team.

Are you him disguised him as a poster?

oops you caught me .. Posted the last comment just before facing the ball . Looks like it affected my focus. Just got dismissed

TBH i was not impressed by his keeping in the u19 world cup. He struggled a little bit against moving ball initially , but not against pace

Also he played pace very well in the IPL .

I just hate it when people give expert opinions and degrade yound players without even following domestic cricket

Mate if u did read my post i said hopefully he improves which is good for the team i support but sorry to say its not an expert opinion but just an opinion as I'm not an expert.

Anyhow we will know soon how good he is against pace.

He is no bradman. He reminds of Suresh Raina with a better pull/hook shot. Has to be seen if Pant has better temperament than Raina.

I would bring in Pant in the T20 team ASAP. He needs to be backed properly. He could be our DeCock. Not Bradman

Rishabh Pant in FC - 7 matches, 907 runs, 90.7 avg, 106.7 SR, 48 6s :O

Will smash many batting records. He is the next Bradman :sachin

Ducket looked like a proper T20 hack bro. His defense was pretty mediocre.

Pant has a much better defense and can hit the ball to all parts of the ground.

To be fair to Duckett, Asia is still alien conditions to him, the flat wicket today notwithstanding.

He made a double century not too long ago in County cricket. But yeah, he goes too leg sideish against spin and has a weakness against defending on the backfoot which was evident in Bangladesh and here.

From that video above he seems to be a legs ide player, but with those stats I think he is much more then that. Insane stats and 48 sixes in 7 fc matches is amazing to go with that strike rate.

Ducket is a hack. A shorter version of Sharjeel. His looked really clownish when defending against Ashwin and that too when Ashwin was getting zero turn.

England should play Butler if they are smart.

There was a 350 and 250 scored in the match same where he scored 308; that too in the first inning. His centuries has come against Jharkand and Assam while stats don't look good against Karnataka the only reputable Ranji team. His 60 too did come against Odisha.

Should wait before calling him a bradman.

I wouldn't strictly go by stats. Ashwin doesn't exactly have great first class stats. But Jadeja has enviable stats. But we all know who plays better in international matches.

Broke the Indian first class record for fastest century as he scored 135 off 67 balls (48 ball century).

First class batting average of 133.16 and a strike-rate of 113.17 now. His sequence of scores this season are 146, 308, 24, 9, 60, 117, 135.

Scored a 50 and 48 ball centuries and became the youngest Indian FC triple centurion this domestic season.

Does not Look ready for International Cricket by any stretch of imaginations...

Playing like an absolute hack against Class Ranji players.... International cricketers will take 2 balls to figure him out

Should not have been made Captain of Delhi....that is just too much Responsibility on Pant. May be Nitish Rana or Dhruv Shorey are an option...if Gambhir does not want to do it.

Was never hyped with his cross batted swipes to the leg side, might be an useful ODI/T20 FTB,we need someone better for tests.

He is a top-class talent.

It's only old-school idiots who have a bias against attacking cricket that's holding him back.

He averages 53 in FC and obv in T20 he's a boss.

Yet another over hyped Indian youngster who came to down to the league where he belongs after going all guns blazing in his first season.

This makes it pretty clear. MS Dhoni is here to stay. He is still the best keeper-batsman in India followed by DK, Parthiv Patel, Robin Uthappa and finally Saha. Sort of funny, all of India's best wicketkeepers are in the their late 30's.

Uthappa is a batsman. His keeping is godawful. He's better as a batsman than all these guys, but he's only a batter.

In white ball cricket, Pant is a better batsman than the whole lot of them.

Still very young.Doesn't help when you drop him randomly from the national team.Surely better option than DK,Parthiv

Should resign as captain of Delhi, credible he took them to final though

Is that why all of them had a better IPL than him? And is that why he failed miserably in his T20I chances?

Agreed. That is a good indication. Why would you want him to resign if he's taken them to the final? He would've had the same outings regardless of captaincy or not, personally.

What are you talking about?

He averaged 26.51 SR 165 and played quite a few outstanding knocks.

Much better than DK, Parthiv, Dhoni (LOL) Saha.

Show numbers before talking rubbish.

And in his T20I chances, he averages 43. Yes, that's a bad SR but it's two games. And if you are fool enough to think he had a bad IPL, clearly you don't value SR so don't see how you can complain abt his international performance.

No,captaining Delhi is very tough. Its filled with politics.I haven't seen many 20 yr olds succeeding as captain.Suddenly he was supposed to think about selections and all, rather than focussing on improving his own game

And this is all as a kid who's barely out of his teens and in a season where he lost his father.

I just fear people like you have marked him out to be attacked the moment anything goes wrong.

This boy is actually one of the greatest talents India has seen in years.

Can you please tag me in one post instead of three different ones next time?

And he had a pretty average IPL, not good enough to warrant him a permanent spot in the team even.

Looked pretty average in his T20I games cosnidering his SR is all he is known for.

If he's the best talent y'all have had in years then apka tou Khuda he Hafiz Hai Bhai.

Pant scored 101 (56) on a difficult pitch, best innings of 2018 IPL so far

Rishabh pant is special...Best innings in IPL 2018
Team struggling at 43/3 scores 128 of 63 (team score 181) against good attack of SRH Bhuvi, Shakib, Shadab Kaul..

Time to eat humble pie, this 20 year old kid is destroying International bowlers in the IPL, orange cap holder as of today: https://www.iplt20.com/stats/2018/most-runs

The next Yuvraj Singh, what an incredible talent.

India's batting riches are to be envied; they are simply at a different level to any another team in terms of batting pedigree. Shaw, Gill, Pant, Kishan, Samson etc., amazing.

Is it okay to still prefer Samson? :shezzy Great innings today; India have incredible batting talent to replace Dhoni. Pant, Kishan, Samson, Rahul even Kartik.

People who fancy Samson as a better and classier talent overlook his frail mental game. He plays like a millionaire. Far from a India material like many seem to assume.

This season is time for me take a victory lap.

This guy is totally special. He destroyed the strongest bowling attack in the world on a tough wicket from a horrible situation.

Gill, Shaw and Pant have impressed me the most on account of their discipline. Shaw and Pant are runaway successes in domestic red ball cricket and I have little doubt that Gill would prosper in the next Ranji season. Samson on the other hand has had mediocre returns for the hype he gets in Ranji and other domestic comps. Not sure what to make of Ishan yet.

Sure that's something that an occassional watcher like me can't pick up. But boy, does that kid ooze talent or what. Always has a second extra, and play pure cricketing shots. Might be another Rohit Sharma in the sense, that he's a good biffer on flat tracks but can't manage it when the ball moves. But that could be said about both Pant and Kishan too.

The only one who's a cert irrespective of the wicket is Rahul, and to an extent Kartik as he's opened for India in England with some success in the past.

Strongest attack in the world? One featuring Sidharth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma?

Sharma has been sensational this IPL, so has Kaul who is an India international now on the strength of this. It also has Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is India's #1 bowler and one of the best death experts in the world, and Rashid Khan the world #1 bowler on top of Shakib al Hasan who is the world #1 rated ICC all-rounder and a very strong bowler.

To sum it up look at the way Williamson was laughing, he couldn't believe some of the shots to his bowlers.

lets not get ahead of ourselves. ITs not the best attack in the world. Its the best attack in the IPL and one of international standard. But best attack in the world is stretching it. Overall, the Indian team has a better bowling than SRH.

Attack is better or as good as any international. If you th8nk any bowling lineup is better, why don’t you tell us the country name.

Same here, i like Samson more because of his technique and the extra time he has whereas Pant has one of the fastest bat speed in the world cricket, both of them have their pros and cons and it is good that India has problem of plenty after Dhoni retires in 2019.

Our attack is one of the best, not THE BEST in T20Is. Pakistan and SA can claim to have attacks as good as ours in T20Is.

And since the Indian attack > SRH attack, the poster who I was responding to, his point is refuted.

He is absurd on the legside, but I want to see more on the offside consistently to fully believe he can be a multi-format juggernaut for India. His talent and legside game is remarkable, and he has a very good ability to turn deliveries NOT in his arc or wide of it, into deliveries that can also be targeted.

And none of the in the national team. Well, Pant, except for now and then.

Their time will come, the oldest of the lot is Samson who is only 22-23.

By the 2023 World Cup, at least three of them would be mainstays in the Indian lineup.

Rashid Khan is the best bowler of sunrisers team who is better than any spinner plays for India.

SA attack is average, we recently saw in SA and many here felt they are more like Minnow. Pak attack is good, but doubt they are better than Sunrisers with Rashid, bhuvi, Kaul, Stanlake, sandeep and shakib.

Jus gv the credit were its due
Why using so many filter to judge youngster

I think the selectors have done well by including the young players on the A tour, instead of the Indian team. This A tour should do good for these young players. I am sure all these players will be seen in Indian colours in couple of years. I am disappointed that both Nagarkoti and Mavi are not part of this A tour. Is it because of injury?
