Sindh’s Sarfaraz Ahmed has been fined 30 per cent of match fee for a level 1 breach of the PCB’s Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel during his side’s Kingdom Valley National T20 Cup 2022-23 match against Balochistan at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Sarfaraz was charged for violating Article 2.3 that reads as, “Use of audible obscenity”. The incident took place in the first innings of the match when he was dismissed.

Since Sarfaraz pleaded guilty to the charge and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Nadeem Arshad, there was no need of a formal hearing.

The charge was imposed by on-field umpires Mohammad Asif and Imtiaz Iqbal, third umpire Rashid Riaz and fourth umpire Nasir Hussain.

Balochistan, thanks to Shan Masood’s half-century, defeat Sindh by five wickets.

Our team in the 90s was full players with such tough mindsets - and they were "badmaash" of the highest order. No wonder we are now producing softies with non-existent personalities and who the opposition does not fear one bit.

Along with your cricketing skills, you need to develop a persona and have that fire in your belly to be a top performer.

He was elevated to open in T20 cricket by Misbah to try and make sure he stays in the side because of how useless he had been in the middle.

don't agree with that. Players can't abuse especially knowing the mic is on and everything is going live. With so many people watching them live especially kids, no player should resort to such abuses. A gentleman should behave better than what Sarfraz when he is being broadcasted live.

But knowing it is Sarfraz I'm not surprised at all. I still remember his words for Phehlukwayo. People say he is a street smart cricketer.. He looks more like a street cricketer.
