This makes me not wanna blame the players as much. Our management can't really think this is a good idea can they?

Well at least YK is trying his best to make Sharjeel lose 12kg in 15 days...

Wow they’re really making him work aren’t they.. and Younis carrying best part of 100kg on his back !!!

What in the world did I watch?

I tend to support Pakistan cricket against pessimistic views and generally negativity but this has to be one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen. Sharjeel needs to do some HIIT training as well as weight lifting, not younis-lifting.

Also, this is seriously dangerous for Younis Khan as well.

At least seems to be trying and Sharjeel seems to be keeping up pretty well despite his weight. So good job

I am ****** off at the domestic coaches and domestic fitness trainers, shouldn't it have been their job to give this kind of ragra to Sharjeel? What are they being employed and paid for by the PCB for exactly? In an ideal world, the domestic player who enters the national side should be fully ready

Pakistan is one of the least professional sides, but come on guys, this is just a bit of fun.

I know for most of you Sharjeel is public enemy #1 rn, but see it for what it is... they’re just messing around. It’s one clip.

Next pic will be Sharjeel getting an Uber home instead of walking home, and people will cry about that next.

He should lose weight, 100%. I’m not denying that.

This is what happens when you cant afford weights - you start lifting each other

On a sober note though, this looks scary! Agree that YK is the fittest guy in the whole of PCB, but couldnt they have hired a professional trainer/nutritionist? Hope Sharjeel (& YK) dont get injured in the whole process

I told you there is an injury waiting to happen

Theres no way you can lose that much weight in such a short deadline its not safe .

This is the problem with misbah ul tuk he takes personel dislikes to heart and then goes overboard did the same with umar akmal and then made us suffer with asad shafiq for 10 yrs.

And what if Sharjeel now gets a back injury?

Or consider that maybe the players are having just a bit of fun?

I don't think so. I saw a video a few days ago where Sharjeel was just made to run laps while everyone else was playing cricket. My concern isn't that they're trying to lose weight, its just how theyre doing it. He's too heavy to be running laps on his own weight let alone with younis on top of him. It's going to destroy his knees. Get him to do some HIIT, go to a swimming pool and do some laps, focus on his diet. Not just run and run.

So wasim selected the 112 kg sharjeel. Younis khan is making him do these drills. But its Misbah who is to blame

International cricket is not for soft hearted . No one is to blame but sharjeel himself WTH was he doing during ban from cricket .

This is humiliating for the player. Much has been made of his weight (of course he is unacceptably overweight - I was against his selection).

Now that he has been selected and the media has chewed the proverbial fat around his selection, pun intended, why not let him get on with it behind closed doors and work on his fitness as has been broadcast.

This is humiliating for the player and undermines the seriousness of the task at hand and the organisation as a whole.

The piggy-backing is surely just camaraderie within the squad (I hope); however, showing him out of sorts running up and down the stairs etc... damn, even the commentator/reporter has a humoured tone in his voice.

Chill everyone. Any other country and people will be having a laugh.

They haven't killed anyone. Take off your apology-colored glasses.

Lol this is pretty funny, but lets be honest these guys have no idea how to build a regiment for weight loss or even muscle gain.

We could see results by now if they had any sort of knowledge regarding HIIT, or even strength training.

And hypertrophy for muscle growth.

Our trainers are "professionals" by name. They dont use modern science.

Exactly bud, a few burpee hill climbers and this guy will be sweating buckets I tell you. This is a vastly ineffective method of trying to lose weight.

Rather than a proper diet plan and strict exercise plan, this is the brilliance Pakistan management could come up with.

You should watch the rest of the vidoes on youtube were he had to run up staires multiple times.this vidoe is only one of a couple i believe

Thier are vidoes were misbah is also running laps thier is also a video were younis is running laps with sharjeel and going at the same pace as sharjeel.

This is serious damage to their backs, both of them. Where are our team doctors?
If anyone thinks i am wrong feel free to study basic medical books about backbone injuries.

They were just having a bit of fun
Altho this is dangerous but to suggest this is a serious part of their fitness ragiment is wrong imo

We go with friends and do stupid s*** to keep ourselves motivated maybe younis is doing something similar

But this is dangerous for knees I'll give you that

Still bro, this level of working out is not good enough.

It isnt good enough but i do not blame younis hes trying his hardest.the question should be asked why isnt thier a specialist coach working with sharjeel.

For me bhai fitness is a personal thing and should be a self activity i.e. doing HIT, cycling, swimming etc. He doesn't need a coach for that but if he needs a motivator then by all means, I mean i think PCB can fork out money for a trainer.

Ridiculous , is it 2021 or 1821 ? I'm speechless. Rest of the sports world is relying on professional trainers and physios and we have this , unbelievable .

Our cricket is still in the stone age. People moaned about Mickey but all i ever see is evidence that we desperately need goras in the set up because our own people are generally intellectually bankrupt.

Agree, this is the surest way to cause a back injury, this is nothing to do with "fitness training ". Wondering Saud also suffered an unexpected thigh injury with similar kind of "fitness training ".

Yes defonitely he had enough time to improve his fitness.but now the pcb should help him interms of nutrition and having a proper plan in place and hopefully it pays off.

Yes, this selection process is a joke, one with class 2 obesity is selected for the national team and another one with class 3 obesity is waiting in the wings.

We are short of batsman and Sharjeel, who isn't that good is one of the better ones. In the PSL we only had one young PK in HA that looked decent. We are short of Batsman and that isn't going to change quickly or for the foreseeable future.

I really do not understand why the PCB can't hire specialist nutritionists and professional strengthening and conditioning people. Have them work in domestic cricket,U19, and international level. That way the players have professionals to guide them on how to stay fit and what to eat. It looks as though in the Pakistan set up, we don't have a clue . We seem to think not eating unhealthy food and picking up weights is the answer.

Takes self control, just gotta lower the sweets/bakeries/burgers etc lol. I can guess Sharjeel is a late night eater or orders takeout late lol.

Question to ask is PCB really that broke that they cannot hire specialists trainers/nutritionists for Sharjeel? Is this how PCB invests in its players- giving them a buddy to improve fitness?

The worst thing is he seems to be getting fatter. No concern for fitness it seems.

He's a lazy bugger lol, fitness needs to be instilled in someone's mind as a necessity as oppose to a chore. I mean come on you have to have 1 physical activity you like? You can't you don't enjoy cycling/swimming/playing football????

He needs to embrace it's importance and only that way will he truly get fit.

He's definitely cheating with his meals easy or perhaps eating too many carbs.

Great stuff, they should put Sharjeel on the Rocky Balboa fitness program and make videos with Eye of the Tiger blaring in the background for our general entertainment.

Aamir Khan for the movie Mangal Pandey put on gigantic amounts of weight for the role and then lost it all in 2-3 months where he locked himself in a ranch in the US, he had a cook, a personal trainer and he would eat 6 light meals daily (all healthy), he would walk for one hour, trek for one hour, do yoga for one hour, swim for one hour, play badminton for one hour, do weights and jog for one hour and in 2 months time he went from obesity to being muscular with six packs.

He explained it in pure simple terms, caloric deficit diet, you expend more calories then you consume. This is what people like Sharjeel and Azam Khan need. Baby sitters who will micro manage them since these players are incapable of doing it themselves.
