Can Asif replicate this on UAE pitches? Doubtful but without a doubt the best new ball bowler in the country by a distance. Will the PCB give him a final chance?

An amazing bowler
I always watch his old videos
Just wish PCB could look beyond and give him 1 last chance.

I think he can move the ball around on most surfaces.

Fitness is the question though and whether PCB will allow him back.

Also not sure if other nations will accept him on their soil. Amir had a lot of goodwill going for him - not so Asif and Butt

M. Asif has only his ability unlike some other people who have contacts and supporting lobby. I hope Asif goes and plays for Pakistan next year in Ireland and England.

That will not be an issue. There is not any valid point in not accepting Asif.

Errm. It will be a major issue and an embarrassment for Pakistan. Countries like UAE etc don't really care about how gifted a bowler he is etc.

What other countries will give arguments for not accepting? Asif has served his punishment. At best the crowd May boo.But that will be temporary. If he performs everything will be alright. At the end of the day people will search for quality cricket and this bowler is a genius

No thanks!!!! I would rather play with trundlers... keep doing this in domestic and be happy to have earnings for family. From drug issues to spot fixing to fighting with team mates, carrying way too much baggage. It took years to clean up the mess and no need to bring garbage back. On his skills, there was never a doubt about his skills on top of that batsmen with no feet moving thats just sad that this is what we 'll see in national team soon.

I think what MenIG bhai was referring to was UAE & UK. Asif was deported from the UAE last and has not returned since (might not be allowed at all) and because he has a criminal history in the UK there might be issues with getting a visa. He should be fine to play anywhere else though.

Didn't Johnathan Trott nullify Mohammad Asif by batting outside the crease by atleast 2 feet to nullify the lbw?
Our batsmen don't seem to be doing that.

I wouldn't waste Asif on UAE tracks either, whatever juice is left in his bowling, I would wait for the South African series or the English pitches next year. If he does get permission to play that is

Asif is guilty of almost cricket crime under the sun

I loved the guy as a player. He is like the Ozil of cricket. Utterly unique and genius despite being so languid.

However you can’t bring him back given his rap sheet

M Asif the person can be summed up as a fast bowling genius with a propensity to attract trouble. Those asking for his quick return must be aware how unpredictable his behaviour can be and must be ready to accept the risk that he can show his border line psychopathic personality any time thereby damaging the reputation of the team that Misbah and co. worked so hard to repair in the last 5-6 years.
